Application Information
Event
Los Gatos Plein Air 2017 is the ninth annual presentation of artists’ interpretations of the beauty of Los Gatos, California, and the surrounding areas. The event is a fundraiser, sponsored by the Los Gatos Morning Rotary Club, that supports art, music, and science education for youth throughout Santa Clara County and the programs of the Los Gatos Morning Rotary Charitable Foundation. This year’s event will take place from June 13 to June 17, 2017, in the Town of Los Gatos, California.
Eligibility
Open to all artists 18 years and older.
Entry Form and Fee
The application for Los Gatos Plein Air 2017 will be available online from October 15, 2016 through January 31, 2017. A completed online application form should be submitted via www.OnlineJuriedShows.com. Please print your application receipt for your records. The Los Gatos Plein Air 2017 Application fee is $45.00. The fee is payable when you apply online via credit card or a check to be mailed immediately following the online submission to:

Applicants who fail to submit payment will be dropped from the application pool prior to the selection process.
Image Format
Each artist must submit three (3) professional quality artwork images in JPEG format. Before uploading your images, make sure they are smaller than 4MB, but at least 1920 pixels on the longest side at 72 dpi. Images should be in JPEG format, sRGB color space. Entry form must be filled out in its entirety. List sizes up to the nearest inch. Submitted images must not include matting or frame. Crop the photos to include only the artwork. Be sure your images are right-side-up.
Entry Process
Los Gatos Plein Air is a juried exhibition, with applications reviewed by a panel of outstanding jurors. The panel will review all submitted applications and select approximately 25 artists for a total of 34 artists to participate in the 2016 event (Top artists of 2016 will be invited back to join the 2017 event.) Notification of selected artists will be sent to each applicant via email no later than February 15, 2016. Artist agreement forms will be emailed to those who have been accepted following the announcement.
Exhibition Details
All artwork must be completed in Los Gatos or the surrounding South Bay Area between June 13th and June 16, 2017. Only artwork on canvas stamped with the approved insignia will be accepted into the event. Artists are permitted to arrive in Los Gatos as early as June 12; however, registration will not begin, and artists will NOT be provided host lodging, until June 13.
Registration
Registration will take place, and canvases will be stamped with an approved insignia, beginning on Tuesday, June 13 at 8:00 a.m. Artists are permitted to bring in WET canvases that have been painted the day before or early the morning of the 13th. Only artwork with this stamp will be permitted in the Exhibition & Sale. In addition, all works must be suitably framed with proper backing. Wire hangers or a suitable hanging device must be attached and ready to hang.
Sales
This event is a fundraiser for the Los Gatos Morning Rotary Charitable Foundation, a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization. The Los Gatos Morning Rotary Charitable Foundation will retain 40% of all sales revenue generated throughout the sale. Commissioned pieces during the course of the event will also be permitted at the previously mentioned rate. Payments for all work sold will be mailed within 30 days after the exhibit closes.
Lodging/Transportation
Los Gatos Morning Rotary will make every effort to provide complimentary accommodations to each participating artist for four nights, June 13, 14, 15, and 16, 2017. Artists are responsible for accommodations for spouses or companions, and also for providing their own transportation to and from Los Gatos, California. Discounted lodging will be made available at a local hotel.
