11th ANNUAL OPEN JURIED EXHIBIT – Mixed Media 2016

NATIONAL CALL FOR ARTISTS

11th ANNUAL OPEN JURIED EXHIBIT

On View: September 15 to October 23, 2016

Artist Reception on September 23, 2016 | 6:00 to 8:00 pm

IFA is seeking artworks created with mixed media.  Style and materials can range from conventional to cutting-edge, limited only by the artist’s creativity. IFA is not accepting video art or time-based works for this juried exhibit.

CASH AWARDS: Best in Show $1000

Juror:
SANTIAGO CUCULLU is an internationally renowned artist who creates mixed media installations.  They are often arranged as elaborate, wall-sized murals that include sculpture and works on paper. Cucullu creates his vibrant works using a “duality of materials and appropriation to indicate the oscillation and ability of objects to collapse on themselves while activating an exhibition space.”  He currently resides in Boston and teaches at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts (SMFA).  His work has been exhibited at the Mori Art Museum, Tokyo; Whitney Museum of American Art, NY; Museum of Modern Art, NY; Museum of Contemporary Art, La Jolla, CA; and Camden Arts Centre, London, which are merely highlights of Cucullu’s impressive resume (available online for additional information).

The deadline for submissions is midnight, Sunday, July 31, 2016.
