Exhibition Details
The Connecticut Women Artists organization was founded 87 years ago in 1929 when thirteen women artists exhibited at the Wadsworth Atheneum in Hartford. Since exhibition opportunities for women were rare at that time these women started a society of female artists. As one of this country’s oldest continuing art organizations for women, CWA now has over 200 elected members. CWA has arranged for this year's show (2016) to be held at the Slater Museum. Because the Slater has no storage space and no capacity for receiving artworks, CWA has arranged for any accepted work that can not be hand delivered to be shipped to a nearby business. A commission of 30% will be taken by the Slater on sales that involve the Slater Museum staff.

Location
Slater Memorial Museum
108 Crescent Street, Norwich, CT  06360
Artwork selected for this show will be on display in a 5-week exhibition at the Slater Memorial Museum on the grounds of Norwich Free Academy in Norwich, CT. The Slater Museum awakens visitors to the richness and diversity of the human experience through art and history. Its white, light-filled gallery walls are an exceptional place to view artwork and it attracts artists, students, tourists, visitors and collectors.
