Be part of the Laguna Music Festival’s 25th Anniversary! Create artwork for the event with the winner receiving a Purchase Award of $1500. Winner also agrees to license the image of the winning piece to the Laguna Beach Music Festival for their promotion of the event. Also, 10 Finalists pieces will be displayed during the event. |

| Qualifications: |
Open to all current SOCALPAPA members in good standing; membership needs to be current through February 7, 2027. |
| Event Details: |
In partnership with the Laguna Beach Music Festival (LBMF), SOCALPAPA is honored to host a Juried Art Contest.
- SOCALPAPA member artists will have until December 6 to deliver up to two paintings featuring themed work to support the festival (See Subject Matter).
- Entries to be submitted via Onlinejuriedshows.com.
- SOCALPAPA will appoint a juror to select the top 10 pieces (“Finalists”) for submission to the LBMF Board.
- Winner - LBMF Board members will select an overall Winning piece. The winning artist will receive a $1500 Purchase Award (buy out) and agree to make license the use of the piece in all promotional materials and make it available for the festival auction. Auction to take place at the Prelude party on February 3rd. If sale price is over the prize amount, LBMF will treat the additional amount as a cash donation to their non-profit organization by the artist.
- All “Finalists” Artworks will be displayed in the lobby of the Laguna Playhouse during the four days of the Music Festival performances (February 4-7) on a rotating basis – Each Finalist will be displayed on at least two days.
- Finalists Artworks will be featured on the Laguna Music Festival’s Website, and the event will be promoted via social media and Emails.
- Except for the Winning piece which will be auctioned at a Prelude Party on February 3 with proceeds going to LBMF, all other Finalist pieces will be available for sale during the festival. Sales will be handled by the Artist with a 20% sales commission to LBMF (See Sales).

| Subject Matter: |
Plein air or studio works featuring the artist’s concept that celebrates the Laguna Beach Music Festival’s 25th Anniversary. This could include paintings that feature musical performances or landscapes (urban or nature) that reflect on the Laguna theme in relationship to the festival.
LBMF Reference Source suggestions for performance images:
- Artists are encouraged to visit the festival website www.lagunabeachmusicfestival.com.
- Artists can go to the websites of the participating musicians for inspiration in creating impressions of musical performances.

| Dimensions: |
Portrait Orientation preferred; minimum size 16x12, maximum size 24x18 canvas/panel/paper before framing. Art Piece Ratio dimensions are preferred at approximately 3:4 for LBMF printing needs for their promotional material. |
| Mediums: |
Acceptable mediums include oil, acrylic, watercolor, gouache, mixed media, and pastel. Plein Air or studio work are welcome.
Artwork must be original. Giclees, prints, photography, digital works (including photography that has been digitally manipulated), and artwork produced in workshops will not be accepted. No exceptions.

Results will be available in your OnlineJuriedShows.com artist profile. Notifications and further instruction will be sent to the 10 Finalist Artists via email by December 14, 2026, or as soon as possible after jurying is completed. |

Painting Delivery:
Winner – To Laguna Beach Art Museum on the morning of February 3 (Diane Snyder to coordinate directly with the artist)
Finalists – Delivered to Laguna Playhouse on the morning of February 4 (Diane to coordinate timing of delivery with the 10 Finalists)
Artwork pick-up: All art will need to be picked up on the morning of February 8 at the Laguna Playhouse. Artists can then coordinate with buyers for delivery of any sold pieces. (Diane Snyder to coordinate with artists.)

| Display: |
Finalist Artwork to be displayed on easels (to be provided by LBMF).
Artwork must be framed and wired. Gallery wrapped canvas requires the sides to be finished and minimum depth of 1 1/2”.

| Sales: |
All sales are the responsibility of the artists. While each Finalist artist is responsible for processing any sale of their exhibited piece, LBMF requests a commission of 20% to LBMF for any sales that result from the competition. Artists are responsible for shipping, delivery and sales tax collection for work sold. If not present, artist will be notified in order to contact the buyer to arrange the sale. |
