OPEN ON-LINE JURIED SHOW

Portals is an online juried exhibition open to all CAA members and non-members. The exhibition will be hosted on the CAA website and on OLJS. It will include awards.
JUROR:
Karin Skiba received her MFA from CGU in Claremont, CA, and was a full-time art professor at Norco College in the Riverside District, retiring as Professor Emeritus. Karin has shaped the region’s artistic landscape by founding and directing the Norco College Art Gallery, serving as the inaugural director of the Hi-Desert Art Gallery, and curating at Joshua Tree’s Juniper Arts Gallery.
She has created art for over 50 years exhibiting in Los Angeles, Chicago, Portland, Joshua Tree, Palm Springs, and Riverside. Now with a studio in Joshua Tree, Karin continues creating vignettes and fictional characters with a diversity of media. www.karinskiba.com

THEME: PORTALS
We encourage you to explore what defines a portal, and to imagine one that resonates. It might be an elaborate doorway leading to the known or unknown, or an opening into other universes, into the body or mind, or any entrance to something real or imagined.
TYPES OF COLLAGE THAT QUALIFY FOR THIS EXHIBITION:
COLLAGE: Flat or very low relief.
MIXED MEDIA COLLAGE: Moderate relief and/or different techniques and materials.
ASSEMBLAGE: Highly dimensional, multiple three-dimensional elements, and/or freestanding.
DIGITAL COLLAGE: Combination of multiple images. Digital manipulation of single image does not qualify.
RULES OF ENTRY: Please read carefully!
Requirements:
· Two- or three-dimensional collage, mixed-media collage, assemblage and digital collage will be accepted. Any size is acceptable as this is a virtual online show.
· As an OPEN exhibit, CAA members and non-members may enter a maximum of four works.
· Work shown at any prior juried CAA exhibit is not allowed.
· Works done in an instructor directed, step-by-step class or workshop are ineligible. Entries must be original and of the artist’s own execution. No artificially generated artwork is eligible. (no AI works.)
· Once artwork is accepted the artist may not withdraw it, nor change the price. No substitutions of accepted works will be allowed.
ENTRY FEES
Members: $35 for up to 4 entries, 4 entries max.
Non-Members: $40 for one, $5 each for up to 3 additional entries - 4 entries max.
We invite you to join CAA ($55) to qualify for the Members entry fee and other membership benefits—a members-only exhibition in Spring 2027, workshop discounts, members-only zoom socials, and easy access to gatherings featuring talks by top-tier collagists. - Payment is made through OnlineJuriedShows via credit card or PayPal. Fees are non-refundable.

FORMAT FOR DIGITAL IMAGES (JPGS) AND HOW TO SEND THEM
All entries must be submitted in a digital JPEG format be and under 4 mb.

ACCEPTED ART
This will be a Virtual show only. All accepted entries and winners will be displayed as an on-line exhibit on CAA’s website, collageartists.org and on the OnlineJuriedShows website’s “Published Shows” at onlinejuriedshows.com
REPRODUCTION OF ARTWORK IMAGES
By entering this exhibit, artist agrees that any accepted artwork may be reproduced for advertising, marketing, and promotional purposes for this exhibit or future exhibits without consent of or notification to the Artist or the Artist’s agent.
RELEASE OF LIABILITY: The artists indemnify CAA for any copyright violations in their work. Insurance for sold artwork entered in this exhibit is each individual artist’s responsibility.
SALES
All sales will be handled by contacting the exhibits committee of Collage Artists of
America. Any and all sales tax will be the responsibility of the Artist. No commission will be taken by the Collage Artists of America.
If a sale is made, it is the responsibility of the Artist to notify CAA or Exhibits Chair so that the sale can be indicated on the website.
