Call For California Artists  

The Art of Now: Pushing Boundaries. 

The San Diego Museum of Art Artists Guild is seeking art at the edge and beyond the traditional. The Art of Now is our Call to California artists to submit work that pushes boundaries in contemporary art—what it is and what it can be. This is a great opportunity for artists to stretch their creative wings, and try something they have always wanted to bring to fruition. 

We invite artwork at the edge and beyond traditional art. Works will include painting and drawing, video art, installation, mixed media, fiber art, photography, and sculpture. Join us for an open-ended dialogue inviting artists and audiences to question and experience what “now” means in contemporary art.

• Deadline for Submissions: Midnight Friday, May 8, 2026. 

• Notifications emailed on May 22, 2026. Results will be available in your OnlineJuriedShows artist profile

• Max no of images per artist: 5. 

• Image Specifications: Images must be jpg, under 4 mb, and in sRGB colorspace. For best results images should be at least 1920 pixels on the longest side @ 72 dpi.

• Video Submissions: Upload a still image from the video to OnlineJuriedShows and complete your entry form/payment. Upload your video to Google Drive, WeTransfer, Dropbox, YouTube or other platform, and email the video link (with full access) to onlinejuriedshows@gmail.com.

• Members of SDMAAG: $20 first entry and $10 per additional. 

• Non-members: $35 first entry and $20 per additional.

• Exhibition dates: Friday, June 5- Sunday, June 28, 2026. 

• Liability of insurance: By submitting the Entry Form, the artist acknowledges that all  reasonable care will be taken to safeguard the artwork and the premises and said person  accepts that The San Diego Museum of Art Artists Guild and its associates, directors, officers  and volunteers will not be responsible for any damage, injury, liability, loss or theft should any  occur. Insurance for artworks entered in this show is each individual artist’s responsibility.  

• Sculpture Weight and size limits: Maximum 3 ft.wide by 7 ft. tall, not to exceed 60 pounds.  (Clean white Pedestals needed.) 

• Free Standing L-Walls weight limit for the free standing walls is 150 lbs. or 50 lbs. per side. 

• Two-dimensional size limits: shall not exceed 7 ft. in height, and 5 ft. in width, including  frame. 

• Shipped artwork delivered directly to the gallery from June 1-4th.
