Q&A
Q: Is there a maximum number of submittals per color?
A: Yes, there is a maximum number of submissions per color. If the slots in a color category are full, you will need to commit to another color category.
Q: I understand that up to a maximum of two (2) pieces are allowed. Can the 2 be different colors or must they be the same color?
A: If entering 2 pieces, they can be different colors OR the same. Either way, you would make 2 entries in SignupGenius.
Q: If I enter 2 pieces, do I need to assign a priority to each?
A: You do not need to assign a priority if entering 2 pieces. The same priority will be given to each choice that you make.
Q: Where do black & white (graphite, pen & ink) works fit in the color family choices in SignupGenius?
A: The Full Spectrum call does not allow for totally black & white, or grayscale artworks (i.e., pen & ink, graphite, charcoal). Pieces incorporating color along with these mediums may work very well to accentuate your featured color. You might consider entering the Sydney Parkinson call for entries if you are working exclusively in a black & white/grayscale medium.
Q: Where do white/beige/neutral flowered or fruited subjects fit on the color family choices in SignupGenius?
A: White/beige/neutral flowered or fruited subjects including the specimen’s accompanying greenery, fit into the “greens” category.
Q: Will each color family be juried separately?
A: All entries will be juried together with consideration of building a cohesive exhibition. Therefore, artworks will be judged both on their quality and on how they fit into the exhibition as a whole.
Q: Can I change colors later?
A: You may not change colors later. However, you can change specimens as long as it is still in the same color category.
Q: What if I find I need to withdraw from my commitment after submitting my choice?
A: If you find you need to withdraw from your commitment to this exhibition, please contact RMSBA immediately so we can open up your color slot to another artist. rmsbartists@gmail.com
