Exhibition - A juried Fine Art Exhibit honoring all varieties of felines and canines, domestic and wild.
Awards – Cash awards for Best of Show, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place and 4 Honorable Mention awards
Eligibility – Open to all artists residing in San Diego County. All 2D and 3D original artwork created within the last 2 years acceptable. No giclee prints. Work must be original to the artist, not derived from copyrighted or published material. No student work please.
Sales – All work must be for sale and must remain hanging until the close of the show on October 6. Artist will receive 60% of sale, and 40% donation to benefit the San Diego Humane Society and Feral Cat Coalition. There will also be merchandise available for sale to benefit the Feral Cat Coalition.
Juror –Julia Fister, Executive Director and Co-Founder of Studio ACE, Oceanside, CA
Julia’s background includes Bachelor degrees in Finance and Art, followed by early careers in investment banking and graphic design. After completing a Master’s degree in Art History at SDSU, she volunteered at the Oceanside Museum of Art (OMA).
Her talent led to being hired to establish a 5th-grade Education Program and later her appointment as OMAs Director of Education. Later, she worked at the Museum of Making Music in Carlsbad, enhancing their educational programs. Seeing the positive impact of arts education in people’s lives, Julia founded Studio ACE, an arts education non-profit in Oceanside dedicated to enriching lives through Arts, Community, and Education. Studio ACE opened its doors in 2018 and continues to serve th Oceanside community and beyond.
Specifications – 2D work must be framed or have all sides of piece finished, and have wire attached to back for hanging. No saw tooth hangers. Work cannot exceed 40 inches in any direction. Framed work over 18 inches must use Plexiglas.
All 2D and 3D original artwork acceptable. 2D work may include all mediums including mixed media. We are not including Photography. 3D freestanding works cannot exceed 36 inches in height. Work requiring pedestal must be no more than 15” wide at the base and must not weigh over 30 pounds. No work requiring electricity.
Gallery Hours – Gallery 21 is in a high traffic tourist area and is open every day from 11 AM to 4 PM.
Each accepted artist gets the opportunity to sit the Gallery for a half day or full day. Additional days are appreciated. Those unavailable for a shift are required to pay a $30 sitting fee. If you would like to be a sitter, please let us know at take in.
Submission of Entry – All entries will be submitted electronically on OnlineJuriedShows. Log in and click Enter This Show above to begin your submissions.
Entry form must be filled out in its entirety. List sizes to the nearest inch. Submitted images must not include mat and frame.
Before uploading your images make sure they are right side up, smaller than 4MB, but at least 1920 pixels on the longest side, and 72dpi. Images should be in JPEG. format, sRGB color space. Fees – Entry fee is $30 for the first two entries and $10 for each additional entry. Entry fees are non-refundable. They must be paid by the entry deadline. After you have submitted, continue to check out. Pay through PayPal or with a credit card and receive your receipt. Acceptance is not guaranteed. No limit on number of entries.

Miscellaneous – Although the utmost care will be taken in handling artwork, Gallery 21 and the organizers of the Reigning Cats and Dogs Art Show cannot be responsible for damage or loss, whatever the cause. Artists should carry their own insurance. Please remember to place the following information on the back of your work: your name, title, medium, size and price.
