Call for Photography Submissions: “From Real to Surreal II: Exploring Photographic Dimensions.”

Twenty20 Gallery is thrilled to announce a remarkable opportunity for photographers and artists who create photo-based art of all levels and styles to showcase their talent in our upcoming juried exhibition, "From Real to Surreal II: Exploring Photographic Dimensions."  This exhibition aims to be a celebration of photography's rich history and its limitless future. Join us on this extraordinary journey through the evolving realms of traditional and experimental photography.

 

Title: Photography – From Real to Surreal II Description:

"From Real to Surreal II" will be an exhibition that celebrates the diverse world of photography, where reality meets the imagination. Whether you specialize in landscapes, portraits, street photography, conceptual art, or any other form of photography-based artwork, we invite you to submit your work and let your creativity shine.

This juried exhibition offers a dynamic and thought-provoking exploration of photography and boldly challenges the boundaries of the medium by seamlessly integrating traditional photography and photography that utilizes innovative and experimental techniques. The result will be a diverse and visually stunning collection that pushes the envelope of what photography can achieve.

 

About 20/20 Gallery:

Twenty 20 Gallery is an exhibition space created by Robert Pendleton MD, PhD.  Rob is an Ophthalmologist and founder of Pendleton Eye Center in Oceanside, which houses the Twenty 20 Gallery.

 

Submission Details:

·         All photographers, regardless of experience, are encouraged to submit their work.

·         Each photographer may submit as many photographs as desired.

·         The entry fee is $35, covering the submission of three images. Additional submissions are welcomed at a cost of $10 per image.

·         Accepted works must be dropped off at the gallery. No mail in submissions will be accepted.

 

Important Dates:

·         Entry Opening: February 5, 2025

·         Entry Deadline: March 13, 2025, Midnight (PST)

·         Notification of Accepted Work: March 18, 2025.

·         Exhibition Dates: April 14, 2025 – July 11, 2025

·         Opening Reception: Saturday, April 26, 2025, from 1:00-4:00pm

·         Art pick up: July 12, 2025, from 10:00am-Noon

 

How to Submit:

·         Submissions will only be accepted through OnlineJuriedShows.

·         Log in and click the yellow “Enter this show” button at the top or bottom of this page to begin your submissions.

·         Prepare your digital images for submission. Please ensure they are high-quality and in JPEG format with 1920 pixels on the longest side. Image files should be under 4 mb and in sRGB colorspace.

·         Pay the entry fee securely through the OnlineJuriedShows payment system.

·         Upload your digital images to OnlineJuriedShows according to the provided guidelines.

Selection Process:

Image selection will be juried/curated by Robert Pendleton MD, PhD. Rob is an accomplished photographer, and digital artist. All submitted artwork will be carefully reviewed and evaluated on artistic merit and originality. The chosen photographs will be announced on March 18, 2025. You will be notified via email once the results are available to view in your OnlineJuriedShows artist profile.

Note: Please ensure that you review the submission guidelines and terms and conditions available presented here on the prospectus before submitting your work.

 

Presentation:

The space at Twenty 20 Gallery consists of 9 recessed / lighted art niches 48”H x 36”W, one recessed / lighted art niche measuring 57”H x 51”W, and several open walls ranging in size from 3ft to 13 ft.  Priority will be given to works that are at least 14 inches in one dimension (including frame).

 

Works must be framed and or mounted and “ready to hang” by attached picture hanging wire and should not weigh more than 20 pounds.  “Saw-toothed” hangers or D-ring hangers will not be accepted.  Artwork requiring electricity is not eligible.  

 

Final Acceptance:

Framing and mounting must be of professional quality.  Artwork not conforming to the above specifications, not in ready to hang condition with picture hanging wire, or that deviates from the previously submitted digital image will not be displayed in the gallery.  Final acceptance will be determined during artwork delivery.

 

Sales and Commissions:

Images in the show can be reserved for purchase by patrons of the gallery at any time by leaving a deposit of not less than 50%, however, images cannot be removed from the gallery until the close of the showTwenty 20 Gallery will retain a 30% commission on all sales.  Monies collected for sales will be paid to the artist by check after the completion of the show.

 

Delivery of Accepted Artwork:

Hand-delivered must be delivered to Twenty 20 Gallery located at 3637 Vista Way, Oceanside, CA 92056. Please note, no mail in submissions will be accepted.

·         Hand-delivered artwork drop-off at the Twenty Gallery: SATURDAY, APRIL 12, 2025, BETWEEN 10AM - 12 PM.  THE GALLERY WILL NOT ACCEPT HAND-DELIVERED WORK AT ANY OTHER TIME.

Pick Up and Return of Artwork:

·         Hand-delivered artwork must be picked up from Twenty 20 Gallery, Saturday, July 12, 2025, from 10am – 12pm. NO EXCEPTIONS
