Collage Artists of America Members Only Exhibit
“UNEXPECTED OUTCOMES”
A VIRTUAL ON-LINE JURIED SHOW
April 1 – May 31, 2025
Happy accidents and serendipitous moments are exciting experiences that can occur when we explore uncharted territory during our creative process. In embracing the unexpected we open ourselves to discovering surprising and novel ideas, having breakthroughs and finding entirely new directions. Whether your creative journey to this is via experimentation with mediums and techniques, the creation of unpredictable compositions and narratives, or any other route that works for you, CAA is excited to see your UNEXPECTED OUTCOMES. As usual, this theme is intended to be a creativity starter and interpretation is up to you.
JUROR and SELECTION OF AWARDS ~
Andrea Burgay creates collage-based works and collaborative projects that explore the passage of time and evoke cycles of destruction and renewal. Burgay is the founder and editor of Cut Me Up Magazine, an ongoing curatorial project where readers deconstruct and transform published artworks in response to curatorial calls. Originally from Syracuse, NY, and now based in Brooklyn, NY, Burgay has exhibited internationally in cities such as Paris, Warsaw, and Genoa, as well as in New York, and throughout the United States. She has received numerous awards and residencies, including Jentel, The Kimmel Harding Nelson Center, and A.I.R. Gallery, and her work is held in public and private collections worldwide, including the Northern New England Museum of Contemporary Art, The Kanyer Art Collection and Historical Archive of Collage, and MERZ Gallery.
