NESA and the Nordblom Company are sponsoring this call for art seeking an outdoor sculpture to be placed in the retail area of 3rd Avenue in Burlington, MA. This will be the third sculpture in a series of works that are designed to enhance the outdoor environment of this upscale suburban location which includes shopping, dining, and lodging venues. Sculptures that are family-friendly, safe, and possibly interactive are particularly requested.
· Sculptures should be suitable for long-term, outdoor exposure, fabricated and installed in a viewer-safe manner.
· Politicized works will not be considered.
· Sculptures that need long-term maintenance will be excluded.
· Works should not exceed 12 feet in height or 10 feet in diameter.
· Transporting the piece is the responsibility of the artist.
· The artist will work in consultation with the Nordblom Company to complete the installation.
· Submitted images must accurately depict sculpture to be installed.
· Submissions must include a description of how the work is to be installed.
The artist will receive 100% of the purchase price. Work must be for sale. The maximum budget for the purchased work is $20,000.
Image files should be jpg and under 4 mb. For best results, image files should be at least 1920 pixels on the longest side @ 72 dpi, and in sRGB colorspace. For help with your submissions, contact onlinejuriedshows@gmail.com or 888-666-1351
Entry Fees: $20 for up to three finished entries, or one sketched proposal
NOTE: Entrants MUST join NESA as a Professional Member if selected.
Submissions may include finished works or sketched proposals for sculpture.
Artists who wish to submit finished works may submit up to 3 sculptures. The additional information requested below is for proposals only.
For Artists who wish to submit a proposal for a finished sculpture, you must submit:
Artist’s Resume or Brief Biography
Professional References Three professional references familiar with your work and working methods. The list should include addresses and telephone numbers.
Work Samples Applicants are required to submit 3-4 examples of previous relevant work. Acceptable file types include JPG.
Sketch of planned concept (must be JPG file).
Description including materials, size of finished work, plans for installation.
Your one sketch and 3-4 work samples can be uploaded as .jpg and must be under 4mb. Log in and click enter this show to begin your image submissions.
