QUALIFICATIONS

Open to active Artists, Out-of-State Artists, Mentor Program or

Signature Artist Members of the California Art Club.

SUBJECT

Between the Tides focuses on the deeply connected relationship between humans and the water, and delves into the tranquil yet powerful nature of summer’s coastal environments.

EXAMPLES

Landscapes can feature coastal scenes where misty summer mornings on the beach evoke the dreamlike nature of summer days. Seascapes can capture the subtle shifts of light on calm waters, or the crash of an incoming tide on the breakers. Portraits can explore figures in quiet contemplation of the sea, immersed in a coast environment, or children splashing in the waves, or figures reclining on the sands. Still lifes can highlight the nautical theme by showcasing objects washed up by the sea, or even more creative explorations like a ship in a bottle.

GUEST JUDGE

Ellen Howard, Vice President and Artist Member of the California Art Club.

MEDIUM AND DIMENSIONS

Oil, watercolor, pastel, gouache, or acrylic.

Unframed dimensions cannot exceed 38 inches on its longest side.

Frames should add no more than 3 inches to the unframed dimensions.

COMMISSION

60% Artist; 20% Old Mill; 20% CAC

All artwork MUST be for sale.

DEADLINE

Wednesday, February 12, 2025.

SUBMISSION INFORMATION

Upload artwork through Online Juried Shows to submit artwork Between the Tides. Images must be jpg, under 4 mb and in sRGB colorspace. For best results, images should be at least 1920 pixels @ 72 dpi. For help with your entries, contact onlinejuriedshows@gmail.com or 888-666-1351.

There is a limit of 5 entries to this submission. The entry fee is $30 for 1, with $8 per additional entry.

NOTIFICATIONS

Artists will be notified via email on or around Monday, February 24, 2025. Results will be available in your OnlineJuriedShows artist profile

ARTWORK DROP-OFF

Monday, May 12, 2025; 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

*If artists cannot drop-off accepted artwork in person during the designated date and time, artwork must be shipped. Artwork that does not arrive on day of drop-off will forfeit acceptance.

OUT-OF-TOWN SHIPPING

Must arrive before Friday, May 9, 2025

Artists will be responsible for the cost of crating, handling, and shipping artwork to and from the exhibition via Box & Ship in Pasadena, CA. Further shipping information will be provided upon acceptance.

ARTISTS' RECEPTION

Thursday, May 15, 2025 from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m.

ARTWORK PICK-UP

Monday, May 10, 2025 between 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
