Lowell’s Loading Dock Gallery presents Living in America

Were you born and raised in America, have your ancestors been here for generations or are you a first generation American, maybe you're a recent immigrant to the US. What is your story and how would you portray that in your art? What does living in America mean to you?

Artists are invited to submit works that explore their personal experiences of living in America. These experiences may portray your home, family, school, work, hometowns, vacations, activities, neighborhoods and more. We are also looking for works that explore the more abstract idea of being an American such as freedom, justice, community, equality, opportunity etc. Works that examine the darker side of living in America are also welcomed.

We encourage a wide variety of mediums; oil, watercolor, acrylic, fabric, mixed media, collage, photography, 3D work, etc.

Living in America also includes Lowell’s Tenth Annual Poetry Convergence. On October 5, as part of the opening, local poets will create and present poems inspired by works in the exhibit.
