Note: We will arrange transportation for accepted pieces to and from gallery.
Opening Reception: Saturday, Sept. 7, 2024, 3-5pm

The theme, “Waves of Creativity” leaves room for wide interpretation, however, we hope you will choose to portray something meaningful that works with the proximity of the ocean environment. The North Coastal Art Gallery has certain specifications for this exhibit:
In order to accommodate the most pieces, the gallery is limiting size to 16” x 20”including frame, and wants landscape orientation (horizontal), not portrait (vertical). You may also do a square piece, but no larger than 16” x 16” with frame.
The show will be curated by Cheryl Ehlers, President of North Coastal Art Gallery. Two jurors (to be determined) will select 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners and three Honorable Mentions.
1st prize: $300
2nd prize: $200
3rd prize - $100.
Eligibility:
Work must be your own original artwork, not done under an instructor’s supervision, and not exhibited in any previous WPW show.
THIS EXHIBIT IS FOR CURRENT WOMEN PAINTERS WEST MEMBERS IN GOOD STANDING ONLY.
Specifications:
Work must be for sale. Work sold at the exhibit will incur a 20% gallery commission. (30% Commission for credit card sales.) For all art sales over $600, the artist is to provide a W-9 prior to mailing funds. Checks will be sent on the 10th of the following month.
Accepted work must be signed by the artist. Submissions must include artist name, email address, phone number, title of work, medium, dimensions, retail price.
The gallery has notified us that they do not carry insurance and each individual artist can obtain her own coverage if desired. Works will be insured during transit.
- Gallery wrapped canvas preferred or simple neutral frames only, with width of your choice, not to exceed the 16” x 20” size, including frame.
- Wiring must be in good condition and substantial enough for the weight of the artwork. Wiring must be wrapped with tape at ends. No saw-tooth hangers. All artwork should be ready to hang on the wall for the exhibition.
- All works on paper must be covered with glass or plexiglass.
- All work should be 2-dimensional in any medium.
- Canvas edges should be painted if no frame.
- Delivered work must match the image submitted. No substitutions of accepted works will be allowed.
- All accepted work must remain in the gallery for the duration of the exhibit.
- Prices may not be changed after acceptance.
• Original digital art will be considered but no AI work or digital reproductions.
Entry Procedure:
Artwork for consideration by jurors must be entered in the www.onlinejuriedshows.com website by midnight Sunday, August 18, 2024. Log in on this prospectus page and click Enter This Show to begin your submissions.
Fees:
$35 for two entries, $5 for each additional entry, up to three total entries by a single artist. All fees must be paid by the entry deadline and are non-refundable and payable through www.onlinejuriedshows.com. Credit card or PayPal are accepted.
The images from this exhibit to be displayed on the Women Painters West and North Coast Art Gallery websites are the exclusive property of the individual artists and no rights are conveyed to anyone without the express written permission of the artist.
Digital Images of Each Piece:
Digital format: JPEG
Entry form must be filled out in its entirety. List sizes up to the nearest inch. Submitted images must not include matting or frame. Crop the photos to include only the artwork. Be sure your images are right side up. Before uploading your images, make sure they are smaller than 4MB, but at least 1920 pixels on the longest side at 72 dpi. Images should be in JPEG (.jpg) format, sRGB color space.
