A TIME TO BREAK SILENCE
Mission: The NCA MLK Exhibition celebrates the life and legacy of Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., the Civil Rights Movement, and those working to further peace and human understanding. Through the arts, we give recognition to the people around the world who work tirelessly to fight for peace, justice, and responsible environmental cohabitation.

Event Dates:
• Application entry deadline: October 21, 2024
• Artist’s acceptance notifications: November 2, 2024
• Opening reception and award announcement: January 14, 2025
• Exhibition closes: February 28, 2025
Eligibility:
• We will accept applications only through OnlineJuriedShows. Log in here and click Enter This Show to begin your submissions.
• Open to artists Nationwide. Applicants must be 18 years of age or older.
• No applications will be accepted after the October 21, 2024 deadline.
• Art should convey the exhibition theme, A Time to Break Silence.
• Art has to be created within the last five years.
• Art dimensions must measure greater than 12 inches on any side and not more than 48 inches
wide.
• Only original artwork will be accepted, no reproductions or republished work.
• The artist or designated representative has to install three-dimensional artwork weighing more
than 30 pounds.
• Galleries reserve the right to exclude any artwork they deem unsuitable for display.
Entry Fee: A $25.00 nonrefundable entry fee must be paid as part of the application process. No
exceptions. $25.00 entry fee covers up to two entries.
Digital Image Format for Submission:
• Digital images (jpg) should be formatted with a resolution of 300 dpi and 1500
pixels on the longest side, minimum.
• No frame, mat, easel, etc. should appear in the image file.
• Each image file may be no larger than 4 Mb in size.
Notification: All artists will receive notification by email after jurying is complete instructing them to view the results in their artist profiles at OnlineJuriedShows.com. Please add
manager@onlinejuriedshows.com and onlinejuriedshows@gmail.com to your safe senders list to ensure the notification is received.
Sales: A 30% commission will be taken for artwork sold during or as a result of the exhibition. The artist or artist representative will receive 70% of the sale price. Potential buyers will be instructed to contact the host gallery to purchase art. Artists can choose to make their art in the exhibition unavailable for sale.
Awards: Jurors will give the following awards for artworks that best depict the MLK exhibition’s
theme: $1,000 for Best in Show, $750 for Second Place, and $500 for Third Place awards.
Sending and Returning Art: Artists are responsible for delivering or shipping their art for the
exhibition. The MLK Exhibition Council will pay return shipping cost for artwork that is more than 50 miles from New Orleans.
