EXHIBITION DESCRIPTION
|
We are pleased to announce that the California Art Club and the Frederick R. Weisman Museum of Art are partnering again to organize the exhibition On Location in Malibu 2024, which will be the ninth in a series which has been held every three years since 1999.

ELIGIBLE TO APPLY
|
Open to current California Art Club members in one of the following juried artist categories: Signature Artist, Artist, Out-of-State Artist, and Mentorship Program Member.

SUBJECT
|
You are encouraged to explore Malibu through any genre you wish, including landscapes, seascapes, urban scenes, and figurative works. One of the most picturesque regions in the nation, Malibu’s topography ranges from the Santa Monica Mountains and canyons to the Pacific Ocean. In addition to the natural environment, Malibu offers an active and vibrant community of residents and visitors that fuel artistic creativity. From the famous surf culture to the varied wildlife, there is no shortage of inspiration!

MEDIUM & DIMENSIONS
|
Paintings in oil, watercolor, pastel or acrylic
Sculptures
Submit 2D works up to a maximum of 72 inches tall or wide. Sculptures must be able to sit comfortably on a pedestal without a bonnet. The main gallery of the Frederick R. Weisman Museum of Art is an awe-inspiring space with a 26-foot high ceiling. We encourage artists to submit larger and more accomplished works that will better fit the impressive scale of the museum setting. To note, smaller studies done “on location” are also encouraged.

60% Artist; 20% Frederick R. Weisman Museum of Art; 20% CAC

SUBMISSION INFORMATION
|
To apply for this exhibition, register with Online Juried Shows and upload artworks in high-resolution, reproduction-quality. Image files must be JPG and under 4 mb. For best results, images should be at least 1920 pixels on the longest side @ 72 dpi. There is no limitation on number of works submitted.

ENTRY FEE
|
$65 for the first submission, and $15 for each following submission. Please kindly pay by credit card or PayPal through Online Juried Shows.

NOTIFICATIONS
|
Artists will be notified via email when the results are available in your OnlineJuriedShows artist profile, on or around Monday, March 25, 2024
|
|
ARTWORK DROP-OFF
|
Monday, May 6 & Tuesday, May 7
10 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
Delivery & timeslot RSVP information will be provided upon notification of acceptance.
NOTE: Shipped works will not be able to be accommodated for this exhibition. All artwork must be hand-delivered to the Frederick R. Weisman Museum of Art.

After the conclusion of the exhibition, you will need to arrange pick-up. Delivery & timeslot RSVP information will be provided at a later date.
There is an expectation that sold works are framed. The CAC will handle the sale of the artwork, itself, and any associated tax.
Please label the back of paintings with your name, title of the artwork, medium, dimensions and price.
Artwork cannot be removed for the duration of the exhibition.
If a work sells, the collector will assume shipping costs, if applicable. The CAC will process all sales, and handing tax or any applicable fees.
