Eligibility:

 

This is a live exhibition gallery show for current (2023) NW Pastel Society (NPS) members. 

 

Paintings must have been completed within the past 3 years.

 

All entries must be for sale and realistically priced.

 

Work exhibited in previous NPS exhibits is not eligible. 

 

Recent national or international show (any art organization) top award-winning work is not eligible. 

 

Solo artist only - no collaborative works.

 

All work must be original in concept and executed by the artist in the pastel medium. 

 

Mixed media pieces must be 80% predominately pure pigment (soft) pastel. 

 

Instructor-assisted workshop/classroom work is not eligible.

 

Work must be originally drawn, not from digital projection or created on top of a base 

photo/print.

 

Framed artwork cannot exceed 60” in any dimension.

 

No minimum size requirement.

 

Accepted paintings must be identical to the digital entry. No substitutions or copies are 

allowed.

 

All accepted work must be framed, professional in appearance and ready to hang with strong wire and flat metal hangers. 

 

No late entries will be accepted. 

 

Entering Your Images: 

 

Enter online at www.OnlineJuriedShows.com. Log in on this page and click Enter This Show to begin the entry process.

 

Members may submit up to 3 paintings with one painting guaranteed to be included. 

 

Entry form must be filled out in its entirety.

 

Submitted images must NOT include matting or frame. Crop the photos to include only the artwork. Be sure that your images are right-side-up. 

 

List size to the nearest inch.

 

For best results, make sure your image is at least 1920 pixels @72 dpi on the longest side.

 

Images should be in JPEG format, under 4 mb, and sRGB color space.

No changes to entries will be allowed after entry deadline.

Fees: 

 

Entry fee is $40 for up to 3 images.

 

Entry fees are nonrefundable and must be paid by the entry deadline. 

 

Fees are paid online using a credit card or PayPal. 

 

Delivery of Accepted Artwork: 

 

Please deliver accepted framed artwork directly to Larson Gallery on Sept 5 – 8, 2023, between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. A Saturday delivery is possible with an appointment and prior approval. 

 

Alternatively, NPS will announce regional drop-off locations to pool deliveries. NPS or NPS volunteers accept NO liability in delivering another member’s artwork. 

 

Members may choose to ship their artwork at their own expense and liability. Return shipment of unsold artworks is at the expense of the member artist. NPS members have successfully used Phoenix Art Restoration (phoenixartrestoration.com). 

 

NPS suggests that participants carry separate insurance as provided under individual contracts with shippers and receiving agents. 

 

Liability: 

 

All reasonable care will be taken with submissions. NPS, NPS officers, volunteers, Larson Gallery, and Online Juried Shows shall not be held responsible for the loss and/or damage to paintings, shipping, or digital entries. 

 

Promotion: 

 

Participating members are asked to personally promote this exhibition - a digital postcard will be made available. 

 

The artist grants permission to reproduce work for NPS/Larson Gallery publicity purposes, both in print and digital galleries. Copyright will be attributed to the artist. 

 

Sales: 

 

All included artwork is for sale for the price submitted upon entry by the artist. 

 

A 35% commission will be collected by the Larson Gallery on all sales.

Delivery window at Larson Gallery: Tuesday – Friday, Sept 5 - 8, 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. 

 

Show Opens: Sept 16, 2023 at 12 p.m. 

 

Artist Awards Reception: Sept 16, 2023 from 12 p.m. – 2 p.m.

 

Show Ends: Oct 21, 2023 and pick-up is Tuesday – Friday, October 24-27, between 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.

This show will be juried and judged by Casey Klahn, PSA, IAPS/MC.

Entry into this exhibition constitutes agreement with all conditions set forth in this prospectus and Entry Form and is your commitment to participate. 

 

Your entry form is a legal and binding contract to deliver artwork that has been entered into the show. If an entrant chooses not to deliver artwork, he or she may not enter an NPS show for a period of two years. 

 

Workshop Opportunity: 

 

Casey Klahn and NPS will be offering a 2-day workshop immediately preceding the opening of the 2023 Members Show, Sept 14-15, 2023, from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. The workshop will be located in the Larson Workshop, 1107 S 16th Ave, Yakima, WA 98902, which is kitty-corner across the street from the Larson Gallery, Yakima. This workshop may include one or more plein air opportunities at local vineyards, weather dependent. Workshop will be open to 20 participants. A list of potential accommodations will be provided with workshop details.
