CALIFORNIA ART CLUB’S EXCELLENCE IN TRADITIONAL FINE ART COMPETITION

THE SIGNS OF SPRING

EXHIBITION TITLE

The Signs of Spring

EXHIBITION DATES

Wednesday, March 20 through Thursday, June 20, 2024

LOCATION

CAC Virtual Exhibition

QUALIFICATIONS

All current members of the California Art Club.

SUBJECT MATTER

The mission of this competition is to encourage artists to develop and refine their classical art skills and spotlight their mastery by providing a new platform for showcasing contemporary-traditional works of art.

We ask artists to represent The Signs of Spring via contemporary-traditional methods. Any genre of work will be eligible for consideration.

Spring brings about the connotations of death and rebirth. The artwork submited could feature anything from budding trees, to rainy landscapes, to blooms of California Wildflowers or a host of golden daffodils, to figures enjoying a picnic at the park or taking a bike ride, to signs of new life (human or wildlife) or anything symbolizing new beginnings and transformation.

Sculptures could explore the resurrection motif popularly associated with spring, to flora or fauna.

We kindly request that artists submit works created in the last three years.

Note: NFS works are now eligible for consideration. Review updated competition guidelines here.

MEDIUM & DIMENSIONS

Paintings in oil, watercolor, pastel or acrylic. Drawings in charcoal, color pencil or graphite.

Sculptures in permanent materials such as bronze, marble, terra cotta, fiberglass, resin or wood.

Since this is an entirely virtual exhibition, there is no limit on dimensions.

Please note that no giclees, prints, photography, digital works or digitally altered works will be accepted. This will automatically disqualify artwork from the competition.
