TEXAS, City, Country and Coast, a Juried Landscape Competition
Subject Matter: Urban, country or coast scenes of Texas only. This competition is a creative adventure in Texas scenes. The landscape artworks can be plein air to surrealism to abstraction and all artists are ask to summit works in all 2D media, (see below).
Eligibility: Open to any artist 18 and above who is able to drop off and pick up accepted works in person at the Brownwood Art Association, Art Center at 215 Fisk Avenue, Brownwood, Texas 76801. Brownwood is geographically located in the center of Texas and easy access from many large cities and art destinations. No shipped artwork, please.
Awards: Best of Show $1,000. Second Place $500, 3rd Place $300

Entry Fee: $25 per artwork, limited to 3 artworks.
Submission Deadline: March 20, 2023
Acceptance Notification: March 23, 2023
Artwork Drop Off dates: March 29, 2 pm to 6pm thur April 1, 10 am to 2pm, 2023
Opening Reception and Awards Announcement: April 6, 2023, 5 pm to 7pm
Exhibit Closing: April 20, 2023
Artwork Pickup: April 20, 21 - 2 pm to 6 pm thru April 22 - 10 am to 2 pm
Presentation Requirements: Artworks must be sturdily framed and wired for hanging.
Size: Works should be no longer than 40 “ framed in the longest dimensions or no smaller than 8” x 10” .
Media: 2D Media including painting, pastel, fiber, collage, photography, printmaking and digital. This competition encourages en plein air paintings to fiber collages in an effort to demonstrate all the beauty and diversity of Texas. All works must be no older than 3 years, original, not done under supervision and not a copy of a published work.
Sales: All artwork must be for sale. A 25% Commission will be charged for sales generated by the exhibit.
Liability: Although utmost care will be taken to prevent damage, theft or loss, the BAA assumes no liability for artwork accepted.
Digital Imagery: Entering the Competition includes permitting us to use images of the works for archives and publicity purposes only.
Entry specifications: For best results, make sure your image is 1920 pixels @72 dpi on
the longest side. Images should be in JPEG format, under 4 mb, and sRGB color space.

JUROR
Randy Hall is a painter, photographer and educator living and working in San Angelo, Texas. Hall earned his Bachelor of Arts in Art from Maharishi International University, his Bachelor of Fine Arts in Studio Art from Calvin College and his Master of Fine Art in Painting from Texas Christian University. He has also completed Doctoral coursework in art at the University of North Texas. Since 2004 Hall has been a member of the Angelo State University (ASU) Art faculty. Holding the rank of Professor, he serves as the Art Program coordinator, curates exhibits and teaches coursework.

Establish in1927, the Brownwood Art Association, Inc. became a recognized 501(c) (3) in 2002, organized for charitable and educational purposes, seeking to enrich the local community through activities promoting visual art. The Association is supported by fundraising, public and private donations and in part by the Arts Council of Brownwood.
