Stipends and Sales
Each sculptor will receive a $2,250 stipend for a two-year loan, paid out in 50% increments each year. Accepted artists should include delivery of work in stipend budget.
The Town of Burlington wishes for displayed works to be available for sale. Works sold during the 2-year loan period are subject to 25% commission to NESA.
Specifications for Outdoors
Sculptures should be suitable for long-term, outdoor exposure, fabricated and installed in a viewer-safe manner. Sculptures should be installed in a manner that is sensitive to the natural environment.
Sculptures that need maintenance during the exhibition or that differ significantly from submitted images may be excluded.
Works should not exceed 12 feet in height.
Colorful, interactive, and kinetic (but safe!) works will be especially welcome.
It should be understood that this is a town-sponsored exhibit, so the work should be thought of in terms of a small town center, rather than an art museum. Additionally, politicized works will not be welcome.
Accepted Artworks
Only original artworks will be accepted. Artists may not withdraw accepted works or substitute accepted works. This will be an in-person show. Artwork will be delivered by the artist. All accepted entries and winners will also be displayed on the New England Sculptors Association’s website (nesculptors.org). No artwork may be removed from the virtual or physical exhibits prior to the closing of the exhibit, regardless of sale status. COPYRIGHT: Artist retains his or her copyright interests in the artwork for all purposes, with the following exception: (a) the right of the presenter and its agent to reproduce images of the artwork for marketing and reports.
Works will have plaques with identifying information.
Town insurance will cover damage to works up to $50,000 and liability to the public.
Accepted entrants MUST be (or become) members of NESA.
Tips for Submitting
All entries must be submitted in a digital JPEG format, between 2MB and 4MB. Label each entry as: Name_Title. Do NOT use all CAPS or all lowercase.
Image quality is critical! Poor photography and presentation will affect acceptance by the juror. The digital image must represent the artwork. Instructions for submitting can be found at onlinejuriedshows.com/HowToEnter.aspx
