Theme: Kindred Spirits: Birds, Beasts, and Human Beings
We invite you to submit works in all media, addressing the theme of Kindred Spirits: Birds, Beasts, and Human Beings. We look forward to seeing creative representations of animals (real or mythological) and/or human beings, in styles ranging from realism to abstraction. Works will focus on the artist's interpretation of the notion "kindred spirits," including the powerful affinity between artist and subject. A brief statement (up to 250 characters in the "description" field) is requested, highlighting how the entry reflects the theme.

Eligibility:
- Open to regional artists, 18 years and older, living in the SF Bay Area.
- Submissions must be original work of the artist.
- Entries must be hand-delivered and picked up.
- All exhibited work must be for sale and not previously displayed in this gallery.
Prizes: Three Merit Awards: $150, $100, $50
Jurors: Robbie Reid, Thomas Goodson, Claudia Gray
Fee Structure:
Members: Up to 3 entries for $45
Non-members: Up to 3 entries for $55
Size and Weight limits: Accepted work must be delivered gallery-ready.
2-D artwork is not to exceed 36” in width. Contact the Exhibition Coordinator to submit larger sizes. Gallery wrapped canvas must be a minimum of 1" in depth. Use plexiglass in framed pieces larger than 24 x 30". Pedestals are 13x13" or 18x18".
If accepted, prepare 2-dimensional work with D-rings and picture wire. Please bring an 8.5 x 11 page with your artist’s statement, on white paper, to be included in the Book of Artists that will be on display during the show.
Terms of Entry:
Submissions must be original work, for sale, and not previously displayed in this gallery. Accepted entries must be hand delivered and picked up.
Coastal Arts League collects sales tax and retains a 30% commission to support gallery programs. 70% of the purchase price is remitted to the artist at the close of the show.
Coastal Arts League accepts no liability for loss or damage to pieces in the show. Security cameras are installed in the galleries for protection from theft.
You are granting the Coastal Arts League permission to use entered work for promotion on the website and for future shows. All rights to submitted images remain the property of the artist.
Acceptable upload-ready file formats:
File Type: JPG
File Dimensions: 1,200 pixels or greater on the longest side.
File Size: No larger than 4 MB.
Color Profile: sRGB
Image files must be of high quality, in sharp focus and a true representation of the original art.
Image of 2D art should include only the artwork, no frame.
