DESCRIPTION
|
This is a call to artists who are members of OMA with the Artist Alliance add-on to submit artwork for Dreams and Daylight, an exhibition exploring the real, imaginary, and abstract impressions of our waking and sleeping lives.
Submissions will be accepted exclusively through OnlineJuriedShows.com (OJS).

JUROR
|
Artwork will be juried by Sonya Sparks.
Sonya is the owner and chief curator at Sparks Gallery. She studied art in conjunction with obtaining her bachelor’s degree in Business Administration at the University of San Diego. Sonya founded Sparks Gallery to encourage the patronage of local artists, support local art groups and institutions, and to educate the public about Southern California artists.

Sparks Gallery exhibits and sells original Contemporary Artwork primarily by Southern California artists who innovate and provide excellent craftsmanship in a multitude of mediums. Sparks Gallery showcases collaborative exhibitions, curated exhibitions by the gallery owner (Sonya Sparks), and solo exhibitions. With a focus on surreal and impressionistic artwork, the gallery curates towards emotive works in themes ranging from portraiture and figurative to landscape and conceptual. Sparks Gallery champions artistic talent in the region and serves as a nexus for creative conversations to elevate the local artistic community.
Located in the Sterling Hardware Building in the Gaslamp Quarter District of downtown San Diego, Sparks Gallery serves as a premier mid-sized event venue for both public and private gatherings. Read more about the gallery here: sparksgallery.com

EXHIBIT DATES

April 30 – July 3, 2022
Artist reception Saturday, April 30, 6:00-9:00pm
The gallery will be open to the public 11:00am—4:00pm Mondays through Saturdays, closed on Sundays.

Monday-Friday, April 4-8, 2022, 12:00-7:00pm

ART PICKUP
|
Tuesday-Saturday, July 5-9, 2022, 12:00-7:00pm

ENTRY FEE
|
$20 for first image, $10 for each thereafter
Thank you for being a part of OMA. Your submission fees (less Online Juried Shows listing fees) and membership dues go toward supporting the museum’s exhibitions and educational programming.

ELIGIBILITY
|
Artists must be current OMA member with the Artist Alliance affiliate membership. Artists who are not members of the OMA Artist Alliance but are interested in participating in this event must become members of OMA at any level with the Artist Alliance add-on affiliate membership before submitting artwork for consideration.

ARTWORK DIMENSIONS
|
Wall mounted two- and three-dimensional work: Maximum 60” height x 60” width, including frame.
Free standing three-dimensional work must be appropriate size for display on a 24” x 24” or 16” x 16” pedestal.

ARTWORK PARAMETERS
|
· Two-dimensional artwork must be wired.
· All submissions must be original works of art. No giclees or other reproductions, with exception of limited edition prints and/or photography.
· Artwork may be in any media or style.
· Tasteful nudity is acceptable.
· Artwork requiring special or unusual lighting, electricity, or unusual methods of installation cannot be accommodated.
· A maximum of two artworks per artist will be selected.
· Artwork must be installation-ready upon delivery.
· Edges of unframed two-dimensional artwork must be finished or gallery wrapped.

SALES/
COMMISSION
|
All artwork must be for sale.
Not For Sale artwork will not be accepted.
Artists will consign directly with Sparks Gallery.
Sales will be conducted by Sparks Gallery staff. The artist will receive 50% of listed sale price. Sold artwork must remain with the exhibition through the end of the show, at which time the artist may arrange for delivery.

To apply for this exhibition, register with Online Juried Shows and upload artworks in high-resolution, reproduction-quality.
Keep in mind, the quality of the photography of your artwork may affect whether your artwork will be selected. Ensure your artwork is photographed in good lighting with a steady camera. CONDITIONS
|
By submitting images, the entrant warrants that they created each of the artworks submitted and that they possess all legal rights to them. The entrant agrees that all submitted images selected by the juror may be used for marketing and promotional purposes related to the event. By providing the images and other information through this entry, the entrant gives permission for OMA, OMA Artist Alliance, and Sparks Gallery to use images of accepted artwork for promotion, reference, printed materials and online postings related to this exhibit as well as in future advertising. All images used by OMA, OMA Artist Alliance, and Sparks Gallery will be credited to the artist. Copyright and all other rights remain that of the artist.
