1st Annual Women in Watercolor International Juried Competition

This will be an ONLINE ONLY competition for WOMEN watercolor artists to help encourage, support, and promote the outstanding women that work in this medium.

ELIGIBILITY & ENTRY PROCEDURES
Entrants will be able to enter once in each category, so a total of Five (5) paintings may be entered in this year’s show. There are no restrictions on size, when the painting was completed or if it has been entered in other shows; the only restriction will be paintings entered in this year’s show will not be eligible for entry in future Women in Watercolor competitions.
- The exhibition is open to all female artists working in watercolor on paper, synthetic paper, watercolor board, Yupo or other two-dimensional surfaces. Transparent and opaque watercolors, casein, gouache or inks. Medium must remain water soluble after drying.
- No acrylic, egg tempera, permanent inks, pastels, colored pencil, collage or any form of print or reproductions.
- Artist’s original work only. No class work. No work done under supervision. No copies or likenesses of another
artist’s work including published source or reference work not attributable to the artist.
- Photo reference material must have been taken by the artist.
- One entry per artist per category. (5 total)
- No work previously exhibited in Women in Watercolor may be submitted.
- Paintings of nudes are acceptable with Women in Watercolor reserving the right to refuse entries depicting
undue violence or obscenity as determined by the Women in Watercolor committee.
If an entry does not follow these guidelines all prizes will be forfeited and entrant may be banned from future competitions.

All entries will be included in the online exhibition. Juried Awards Notice After July 1, 2020.
ENTRY FEES: $35 USD for first entry, $15 USD for each additional entry
One entry per artist per category (5 paintings entered max.)
ABOUT YOUR DIGITAL IMAGE
- Image must be correctly oriented (vertical or horizontal).
- Show only the image, no frame or mat.
- No digital enhancement is allowed.
Entry grants Women in Watercolor permission to reproduce work for records and promotional purposes. Images of accepted work may be used by Women in Watercolor in print/web promotional ads.
All entered work will be listed on Dailybrushwork.com for sale. If your painting is not for sale, mark it NFS in the price option when you enter. Women in Watercolor will retain a 20% commission on anything sold from the website. Work will be listed for sale online through August 30, 2020. Please price work accordingly.

THIRD PLACE: $150 USD
- Hard copy certificate
- Featured on Women in Watercolor Website and all Social Media Sites
There will also be multiple Merchandise Awards, Finalists and Honorable Mentions in each category.
Winners will be notified via email and posted on the Women in Watercolor website.
Women in Watercolor will not be held responsible for lost or missing mailed prizes. All decisions are final, no entry may be withdrawn once submitted. No refunds given.
