Santa Cruz Art League creates an environment where local as well as regional & national artists display their art. The many classes in art and performance provide a space for learning and enhancing the creative process. Established in 1919, Santa Cruz Art League is Santa Cruz County’s longest standing Arts organization, and is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit.

Scope
How do our eyes see animals? How do we capture the animal spirit in art? What beauties and mysteries do animals lend to our creativity? Artists may submit work in any medium, 2D or 3D. Fine representational depictions, scientific illustrations, as well as wildly expressive and experimental work about any animal(s) ----real or imaginary---are welcome. We hope to see animals from many geographic areas of the world in art made by artists from all over the U.S. Just like in the animal world, variety is the name of the game!

Eligibility
Open to United States residents. The Santa Cruz Art League reserves the right to decline or remove any work that does not conform to the agreement.

Payment
Entry fee paid at:  www.OnlineJuriedShows.com is $40 Non-member/$35 SCAL Members for one entry, each additional entries is $10. May submit up to 5 pieces. Entry fees are non-refundable. New members are welcome to join by going to www.scal.org and signing up.
All entry fees must be paid by deadline date.

Rules of Entry
All work must be original and executed by the exhibiting artist within the last three years. Jurying will be by digital images with a maximum of 5 entries per artist. Work is to be installation-ready with necessary framing and mountings. No unprotected glass edges. Work requiring special handling is to be installed and removed by the artist. The specific work accepted for entry is to be available for the exhibit. No work may be substituted or exchanged for any reason. All work must be for sale.

If you wish to enter a large art piece in the exhibit, it must fit through our doors 8'x4'. Please contact the Art League and consult Curator before entering a large art piece.

An entry is one individual artwork.
Each artist may submit up to 5 digital/jpeg entries.

Sales / Insurance / Shipping
All work must be for sale. Artists agree to donate 45% of any sale of work to Santa Cruz Art League (SCAL) or 30% of sale if SCAL Member. Artist will be paid three weeks from end of show. SCAL insures work only after installation. Maximum insured value $1000 regardless of price. Shipped entries must have return shipping prepaid and prearranged. Questions? www.fedex.com or www.ups.com.
$20 handling fee per box for shipped work.

Awards & Publicity
The Juror will grant $1,000 in Awards. Artist bio and/or brief information on artwork with photo is encouraged for Gallery Bio Book, when accepted. SCAL shall have the right to photograph, telecast, and /or reproduce artwork in full or in detail for educational, catalog, or publicity purposes including SCAL?web
