Spring-Summer 2014
Call to Artists

CALL FOR ENTRIES
Monterey Peninsula Regional Park District (MPRPD) welcomes entries for its “Wildflowers of Garland Park” exhibition in celebration of the Grand Re-Opening of the Visitor Center at Garland Ranch Regional Park in Carmel Valley.  Artists are invited to submit artwork in any 2-dimensional medium for this community art exhibit, which runs from April 19 through August 10, 2014.

EVENT
Celebrate the season when wildflowers blossom throughout Monterey County.  MPRPD has been preserving and protecting parks and open space since 1972. MPRPD is committed to being an inspirational, inclusive, respected, sustainable and valued open space district that collaborates with and serves the community and its conservation needs through interconnected open spaces, public parks, education and advocacy.

In the summer of 2013, MPRPD began to remodel the Visitor Center at Garland Ranch Regional Park to expand its space for more interpretive exhibits and to accommodate the growing volunteer and environmental education programs.  The work is nearly complete with a re-opening dedication event scheduled for Earth Day, April 19, 2014. This public event will highlight the remodeled visitor center, native plant garden and community artists’ works on display.  The art exhibit runs until August 10, 2014 showcasing the 14th annual Wildflower Show during the second weekend of June.
