A Signature member of OPA, he has won five Awards of Excellence at the Oil Painters of America’s National Juried Show from such distinguished artists as Daniel Gerhartz, Quang Ho, Ramon Kelly and Scott Christensen. Best known for his stunning portrayal of nature in oil, he loves painting the rugged mountain peaks, desert canyons and the pounding surf. With the success of his teaching videos and his book Capturing the Seasons in Oils, he has become a popular teacher and workshop instructor. Painting Dramatic Light in the Landscape
Tim Deibler writes, “The first thing we learn as plein air painters is that we are not in control of our subject. How often has nature thrown us a curve by allowing us only a momentary glimpse of dramatic light? The challenge we face is to get down those impressions on our canvas as fast as possible. In this workshop you will learn how to quickly visually organize what you are seeing and get it down in 100 strokes or less.” Tim will show you how to take your paintings from ordinary to extraordinary by a careful selection of natural lighting effects. Learn how to represent glaring sunlight, silvery moonlight, rainbows and other natural phenomena. From sunrise to sunset and everything in between, whatever your style, this class is for you!
