Rejoice in Art! “For the Beauty of the Earth” 2017

OFFICIAL PROSPECTUS:
2017 REJOICE IN ART! FINE ART EXHIBITION
“For the Beauty of the Earth”

We are pleased to announce our third annual fine art exhibition – “For the Beauty of the Earth” – a national juried showcase of representational fine art that coincides with our Rejoice in Art! Fine Art Fair taking place in Southern California. This exclusive show of original art in a variety of mediums will take place October 14-29 at Riviera UMC, 375 Palos Verdes Blvd, Redondo Beach, CA 90277. For more information, please visit www.rejoiceinart.com.

Exhibition Juror:  Richard McKinley
Richard McKinley (www.mckinleystudio.com) is an internationally known artist in oil and pastel, president of the International Association of Pastel Societies, and best-selling author of two art books. His work is represented in several national galleries and is in the permanent collection of the Butler Institute of American Art Museum. He has been a professional working artist for 38 years and has more than 35 years of teaching experience.

Awards Judge:  Otto Stürcke
Otto Stürcke (www.sturckestudio.com) is a high-ranking member of several prestigious art groups, including the historic California Art Club, Pastel Society of America and the California Art League, and has garnered a long list of awards for his artwork. After valiantly serving his country in Desert Storm, Sturcke spent 15 years working as an illustrator for Disney, Warner Bros., and Sony Pictures before deciding to pursue his own creative endeavors as an oil and pastel fine artist.

Eligibility:  Open to all representational artists worldwide in any two-dimensional media, excluding photography.

Exhibit Theme:  “For the Beauty of the Earth.” This exhibit provides an opportunity for artists to display their interpretations of this theme, as celebrated in the song by Folliott S. Pierpoint (1835-1917). Landscapes, seascapes, animals and wildlife, portraits and figures, still life, florals and related work will be considered.

Exhibit Description:  The goal of this exhibit is to rejoice in the beauty of our earth and to celebrate the artists who capture this beauty in their creative process. It is also to provide an opportunity for artists to display their work, and for the public to view and purchase the excellent plein air and studio pieces being produced by these fine artists. The exhibition is part of the public Rejoice in Art! Fine Art Fair taking place at Riviera UMC the weekend of October 14-15, 2017, which includes artists’ tents, art demos, food trucks, musical entertainment, opportunity drawings, adult and children's art activities, and more. All proceeds benefit Riviera’s mission projects, as well as its art and music programs.

The juried exhibit will be held at Riviera UMC, 375 Palos Verdes Blvd., Redondo Beach, CA 90277 from October 14 to October 29, 2017.

Artists and the public are invited to attend a special awards reception to be held at Riviera UMC on Sunday, October 15 at 3 p.m.
