William A. Schneider paints primarily from life. He was trained at the American Academy of Art in Chicago. He has been featured in numerous magazine articles and has received awards in exhibitions including those of: American Impressionist Society, The Pastel Society of America, Portrait Society of America, and Oil Painters of America. He is represented by galleries in Carmel, CA; Napa Valley; Taos, NM; Cincinnati, OH; and Charleston, SC. Bill was awarded Master Signature status by the Pastel Society of America, and the American Impressionist Society (AIS), and the International Association of Pastel Societies has recognized him as a member of their Masters’ Circle.
Eligibility: Open to all 2017 dues paid GLPS members only. Member dues must be paid BY Jan. 31 to enter.
No exceptions. Work done under supervision in a class or workshop is NOT ELIGIBLE. Painting must be at least 80% soft or oil pastels. Painting must be identical to the accepted image. No copies from other artists or pre-published material. Artwork restrictions: no larger than 40” wide including frame (height doesn’t matter). Work must have been completed in the last two years and not have been shown in any previous GLPS exhibit. Nude artwork will be accepted, but the GLPS and the SHCA Council reserve the right to exclude any artwork deemed offensive or against US laws.
Entry fee: 1st image = $35, $5 each for 2nd, 3rd and 4th images, 4 images max. So, entering 1 piece = $35, 2 = $40, 3 = $45, 4 = $50. Entry fee is nonrefundable and must be paid at time of entry online.
Online Entry: When entering online with www.OnlineJuriedShows.com for the first time, follow the instructions for opening an account, and create a password. Record your password because you will reuse it for ALL future entries with Online Juried Shows, no matter what art society is sponsoring a show. Then scroll down to find the Great Lakes Pastel Society 2017 Members Exhibit, and follow the directions for entry. When filling out your artwork information for this show, please be sure all information is correct – spelling, title, pricing of artwork. All information is input by the artist and is used AS IS by GLPS for reference, printed material, and online postings. No changes can be made after the entry deadline, March 12. At the end of your entry process, payment can be made using PayPal or a valid credit card. All entries must be paid for by the entry deadline or your entry process is not complete.
Entering Your Images: All entries must be digital and submitted online to www.OnlineJuriedShows.com.
IN THE TITLE OF YOUR PAINTING, PUT THE YEAR IT WAS CREATED. Example: Spring Landscape - 2016. All pieces must have been created in 2015, 2016, or 2017. Entry form must be filled out in its entirety. List sizes up to the nearest inch. Submitted images must not include matting or frame. Crop the photos to include only the artwork. Be sure your images are right-side-up. Before uploading your images, make sure they are smaller than 4MB, but at least 1920 pixels on the longest side at 72 dpi. Images should be in JPEG format, sRGB color space. Please add Services@OnlineJuriedShows.com and Manager@OnlineJuriedShows.com to your safe senders list to ensure notifications are received.
Framing & Presentation: Accepted works must be delivered framed and ready to hang. Frames must use wire for hanging.
Sales: ALL WORK MUST BE FOR SALE at a 35% commission. No work will be released before the close of the exhibit.
Delivery & Pickup of Artwork: If accepted, shipped work MUST INCLUDE a prepaid return shipping label. Hand delivery and pickup dates/times are noted above. If someone other than the artist is picking up artwork, permission must be given to other party IN WRITING. The SHCA has very limited storage space for shipping materials and prefers that members look into carpooling their hand delivered artwork.
NEW RULES:
• If shipping artwork, NO PACKING PEANUTS ALLOWED. NO WORK PACKED WITH PEANUTS WILL BE HUNG IN THE SHOW.
• If two works are shipped together they must be individually boxed inside the main container.
• Shipping boxes and all interior boxes must be labeled with artist’s name.
• For work hand delivered, ALL bubble wrap, plastic bags, etc. must leave with the artist.
Liability: The utmost care will be taken in the handling of paintings, and the SHCA carries insurance for loss or damage to artwork during the show. However, neither the Great Lakes Pastel Society nor the SHCA Council will be responsible for loss or damage to any artwork incurred during shipping.
