Eligibility: Open call opportunity may include sculpture, photography, painting, printmaking, pastel, digital art, pottery, mixed media.
1. Maximum Frame or Sculpture Dimensions: 48 inches on longest side
2. Original Work only and must be for sale.
3. Post-high school.
4. Work must be ready to hang or display or will not be included.
5. Must be able to drop off and pick up --No shipping available.
Fees: $25 flat fee for entering two pieces for North Country Arts members and $35 for non-members. (Individual Annual Memberships available for $20 –contact info@northcountryarts.org.) Entry fees are non-refundable and must be paid by the entry deadline.
Entering Your Images: Entry form must be filled out in its entirety. List sizes up to the nearest inch. Submitted images must not include matting or frame. Crop the photos to include only the artwork. Be sure your images are right-side-up.
Before uploading your images, make sure they are smaller than 4MB, but at least 1920 pixels on the longest side at 72 dpi. Images should be in JPEG format, sRGB color space. Juror: Victoria Palermo will both jury entries into the show and the awards presented. Ms. Palermo is a sculptor and professor of art at Skidmore College, Saratoga Springs, NY. She recently exhibited her outdoor sculpture called Camp Iris at the Hyde Collection Art Museum and Historical House, Glens Falls, NY. She exhibits both two and three dimensional work in galleries and venues across the country and has receive reviews in national media including Sculptor Magazine and the New York Times. She has had solo exhibitions at many museums and galleries and has had commissioned public projects.
Exhibition Details: Visions is North Country Arts’ second annual juried show in the beautiful new Gallery at the Shirt Factory, an artist’s colony as well as indoor space for small boutiques and healing arts. It is located on the Arts Trail of Glens Falls within the Arts District which boosts joint marketing by 13 connected arts organizations within walking distance.
NCA also has a Gallery in the Shirt Factory for rotating shows. Artists participating in this show will be eligible for awards and will gain a great deal of publicity through the organizations social media and print media. Not only do people specifically shopping for art visit the Gallery but the Shirt Factory draws hundreds of people visiting for many occasions. The reception draws over a hundred and there will be other special events to attract art lovers to the show. A Chamber of Commerce Mixer is also planned during this exhibition.
Categories:
Both NCA members and non-members are eligible but the fees are different.
Sales: North Country will take a 35% commission on the straight sales of artwork. The transaction will be handled by the Shirt Factory Gallery.
Lodging/transportation: There is not housing provided for artists.
Awards: Cash Awards will include: Gold: $750, Platinum: $500, Silver: $250. There will also be a People’s Choice Award: $100.
Calendar: Timeline of events including:
1. Open to entries: December 1, 2016
2. Entry Deadline: February 19, 2016
3. Notifications sent out via email: Monday, March 21 and Tuesday, March 22, 2017
4. Drop off of selected art: at the Shirt Factory Gallery Friday, March 24 or Sat. March 25 from 12 noon to 5pm.
5. Show opens: Wednesday, March 29, 2017.
6. Awards presented at the reception: on Saturday, April 8, 2017 from 5 to 7pm.
7. Pick-up art not sold: May 3 to 6, 2017, from noon to 5pm.

1. The artist agrees to allow North Country Arts to photograph works for promotional purposes.
2. Each work is insured to a reasonable amount while turned over to the care of the Shirt Factory Gallery. Items will be handled with the utmost care, however, the Shirt Factory Gallery or North country Arts will not be held liable for damage as a result of workmanship or design. Artists are responsible for delivering to and from the Gallery and for insuring work while in transit. Artists are also responsible for providing work that is sturdy and durable for necessary hanging purposes.
