ELIGIBILITY:  Entry is open to all artists who can hand-deliver their artwork to Topanga Canyon Gallery (TCG). All media, except video and performance art are acceptable. Each artist may enter up to 3 works. All works must have been completed within the last 3 years.

John Paul attended Otis Parsons School of Design and California State University at Northridge, where he received his B.A. while working with two distinct voices in American art: Hans Burkhardt and Saul Bernstein. Extensive travels throughout Europe have given him the opportunity to study the history of Western Art. Invitations to work and teach in India, China, Nepal, Japan and Mexico have expanded his knowledge of traditional Eastern and Pre-Columbian art. As an award-winning professional painter, he regularly conducts workshops and lectures to audiences around the globe.

ENTRY PROCESS:  Enter your images and pay the entry fee online at www.OnlineJuriedShows.com.  Entry form must be filled out in its entirety.  List sizes up to the nearest inch.  Submitted images must not include matting or frame.  Crop the photos to include only the artwork.  Be sure your images are right-side-up.

For best results, make sure your images are at least 1920 pixels on the longest side at 72 dpi (but no larger than 4MB).  Images should be in JPEG format, sRGB color space.  Help in photographing your work and properly sizing your images can be found at:  www.OnlineJuriedShows.com/help.aspx.  If you need help entering your images or are unable to, please email Help@OnlineJuriedShows.com or call 949-287-8645.

SALES:  All works must be for sale. Topanga Canyon Gallery will retain a 30% commission on any works sold.

Price submitted on entry form may not be changed.

Topanga Canyon Gallery Member entry fee is $25 for up to 3 entries.
Non-Member Entry fee is $45 for up to 3 entries.
Entries can be paid by credit card or PayPal through
www.OnlineJuriedShows.com.  Entry fees are not refundable and must be paid by the entry deadline.

HANGING WORKS ARE LIMITED TO 42” IN ANY DIRECTION and must not exceed 20 lbs.

3D WORKS MUST BE NO MORE THAT 5' HIGH AND FIT WITHIN A 30” X 30” FLOOR AREA and not exceed 40 lbs.

All two-dimensional work must be wired for hanging and have finished edges or be framed.  Frames and matting must be professional in quality. All two-dimensional works on paper must be under glass or Plexiglas.

Artists may enter more than one category.

I want to enter this show, click to continue" (in the upper left of this screen), fill out the entry form, and upload your image.  Then, click "Current Shows" and scroll back down to the Topanga Canyon Gallery show and again click "I want to enter this show," and again, click "Yes! i want to enter this show, click to continue."  Then choose the other category, fill out the entry form, and upload your image.  If you need help, email

Delivered artwork must be the original artwork submitted not a reproduction or facsimile.

Topanga Canyon Gallery reserves the right to refuse any entry which does not match the images submitted or meet the criteria stipulated in this prospectus.

Early pickup of artwork is not permitted.  

LIABILITY:  Artworks will be handled with the utmost of care.  TCG, its officers, directors, employees, agents or volunteers will not be responsible for loss, theft, breakage, or damage to any artworks submitted.

NOTIFICATION:  Acceptance notification will be emailed to all artists by December 19, 2016

DELIVERY:  Accepted artwork must be hand delivered on January 8, 2017, 2-5PM to:

PICK UP OF ARTWORK:  at Topanga Canyon Gallery on Sunday, January 29, 2017, 2-5pm.  Artwork may not be removed before that day and time. Artworks left after pick up date will accrue storage fees of $5 daily.

AGREEMENT:  Submission to this competition shall be understood to constitute an agreement on the part of the artist to all rules and conditions as set forth in this prospectus.

About the Gallery
Following the lead of the first Topanga Artists’ Guild in the 1950's, Topanga Canyon Gallery brings together more than 40 well-known and emerging artists from the greater Los Angeles area with over half from Topanga Canyon.  The gallery was originally founded in the 1980's and opened at its current location in Pine Tree Circle in the fall of 2000.  Each year, the Gallery hosts its Juried Open Show in January with an exhibit of local southern California artists.
