About the OPS Online Show:
The Outdoor Painter Society 2016/17 Online Showcase is an annual competition available for OPS Associate Members. This is a "one of a kind" show to help highlight Associate members and increase visibility among members and public. Along with a monetary award, the Best of Show artist is guaranteed acceptance of 1 painting into the OPS Plein Air Southwest Salon 2017*(See competition rules below) at Southwest Gallery in Dallas, TX, April 9, 2017.
Prospectus/Guidelines OPS Associate Members Showcase
Eligibility:
The 2016 competition is open to any Associate Member of Outdoor Painters Society. 2015 Showcase Best of Show winner is not eligible for awards. The online showcase competition is open to sold works with no size restrictions, but the Best of Show winning artist must submit a painting that meets all PASW show requirements for its participation in PASW 2017. (PASW Prospectus is available on this site and also at Online Juried Shows website.) Associate membership is available to artists who wish to join prior to competition entry or have already joined for 2016. Associate membership is $45 annually. Entry & Fees:
Associate may submit up to 3 images; entry fee is $15 per painting. Entry fees are non-refundable and must be paid by the entry deadline. All entries must be submitted through www.OnlineJuriedShows.com.
Awards and Jurying Process:
Best of show Painting: $500.00 and guaranteed acceptance of one painting into PASW 2016 Salon. *(See competition rules below.)
Three (3) Award of Excellence @ $200.00 each.
All four winning artists will be featured on website.
Entire Showcase will be displayed on Online Juried Shows website for a period of one year.
This year’s Showcase will be judged by Beverly Boren, OPS Signature Member.
Dates:
October 1, 2016: Submit entries to www.OnlineJuriedShows.com
November 20, 2016: Deadline for entry.
December 5, 2016 Winners notified by email.
Entering Your Images:
Entry form must be filled out in its entirety. List sizes up to the nearest inch. Submitted images must not include matting or frame. Crop the photos to include only the artwork. Be sure your images are right-side-up.
Before uploading your images, make sure they are smaller than 4MB, but at least 1920 pixels on the longest side at 72 dpi. Images should be in JPEG format, sRGB color space. Help in photographing your work and properly sizing your images can be found at: www.OnlineJuriedShows.com/help.aspx. Competition Rules:
1. The 2016/17 OPS Associate Showcase is open to active OPS Associate members only.
2. Entry(s) must be plein air work(s) created within the last 2 years and must be original. Workshop and classroom paintings are not eligible. Plein air works are paintings executed entirely outdoors, on location. No studio work.
3. Artists may enter up to 3 pieces however no more than one award will be given to any one artist.
4. Paintings that have won awards in other OPS or national shows are not eligible. Paintings entered in previous OPS shows are not eligible.
5. The 2015 Best in Show winning artist is not eligible for awards.
6. Paintings must be signed and the signature must be visible on the image upload.
7. Sold work is acceptable with no size restrictions. (Online portion of show only.)
8. Best of Show winner's PASW 2017 Salon entry WILL have a size restriction. It is up to winning artist to submit a painting to that show that meets show requirements and standards; painting will be required to be available for purchase. Note: Winning artist is not required to enter PASW 2017 Salon, but entry of one painting that meets show requirements is guaranteed acceptance into PASW 2017.
