This is a call to artists who are members of Oceanside Museum of Art Artist Alliance: You are invited to submit any number of entries for consideration in this juried art exhibition presented by Oceanside Museum of Art (OMA) that will take place at L Street Fine Art Gallery in downtown San Diego.
Artists may submit original or limited edition two-dimensional or wall-mounted, low profile three-dimensional work. Up to two artworks may be accepted from each artist. No nudity will be accepted. Artwork requiring special or unusual lighting or methods of installation cannot be accommodated.
Artists who are not a member of the OMA Artist Alliance but are interested in participating in this exhibition must submit their membership application before submitting artwork for consideration.
** PLEASE NOTE WHEN LISTING ARTWORK DIMENSIONS FOR SUBMISSION If the artwork is framed please list the dimensions of the frame in addition to the dimensions of the actual artwork.
SUMMARY
On view October 20, 2016 ¬– early January, 2017 (closing date will be announced in November)
• Fees: $25 for up to five entries, $10 for additional entries
• Artwork details:
o Original or limited edition two-dimensional work, no larger than 40” wide x 60” tall including frame.
o Original three-dimensional work, no larger than 40” wide x 60” tall x 4” deep. Artwork must be wall mounted and ADA compliant (protruding no more than 4” from the wall).
o Artwork may be in any media or style.

JUROR BIOGRAPHY
Kay Colvin, director and curator of L Street Fine Art Gallery since 2010, demonstrates her commitment to the local arts community by creating opportunities and generating recognition for emerging and mid-career artists of the San Diego area. ... Throughout her tenure at L Street Fine Art, Colvin has collaborated with numerous nonprofit art organizations in presenting exhibitions featuring artists from San Diego and beyond, including OMA’s California Dreaming international traveling exhibition.
With a BA degree in fine art and art history and subsequent graduate studies in art and art education, Colvin has been professionally engaged as gallery director, curator, design director, arts columnist, art education curriculum developer and instructor, as well as practicing artist.
Currently serving on the board of directors of the Encinitas Arts, Culture and Ecology Alliance, Colvin is engaged in development of the Pacific View Academy of Arts in Encinitas. A former commissioner of the arts for the City of Encinitas, she continues to serve on the board of directors of The 101 Artists’ Colony and Arts Alive Foundation.

DETAILED GUIDELINES FOR ENTRY
1. ENTRY DEADLINE: 11:59 PM Pacific Standard Time (PST), September 19, 2016.
2. EXHIBITION: Artworks will be chosen by Gallery Director Kay Colvin, to be exhibited October 20 through early January 2017 at L Street Fine Art Gallery, located at 628 L St, San Diego, CA 92101, across from Omni Hotel. Due to its close proximity to the Omni hotel and the nearby convention center, this location sees heavy traffic. An exhibition of this length will be seen by thousands of visitors, and sales happen frequently.
Selection of artworks for inclusion in the exhibition is entirely the decision of the Juror. The juror’s selections are final. Entrants contacting the juror in advance of selections will be disqualified.
3. ELIGIBILITY: To submit artwork for consideration in this exhibition, you must be a current OMA Artist Alliance member. Artists who are not a member of OMA Artist Alliance but are interested in participating in this exhibition must submit their membership application before submitting artwork through Online Juried Shows. 4. ONLINE ENTRY PROCESS: Entries will be accepted exclusively through onlinejuriedshows.com. When entering for the first time, follow the instructions for opening an account and creating a password. Record your password for reuse in all future entries with onlinejuriedshows.com. Scroll down to locate the exhibition “Artist Alliance at L Street” and follow the directions for entry. When filling out your artwork information for this show, please be sure all information and spelling is correct. All information entered by the artist will be used “as is” throughout the entire exhibition. Entry form must be completely and accurately filled out providing all requested information regarding the artwork and the artist. No changes can be made after the entry deadline, 11:59 PM Pacific Standard Time (PST), September 19, 2016.

5. DIGITAL IMAGE SPECIFICATIONS: Complete instructions are found on www.OnlineJuriedShows.com/help.aspx. It is not necessary for digital image file(s) to be pre-formatted to 1920 pixels on the longest side. Digital image of each work submitted must be under 4MB, but will be automatically resized. However, for the best image quality it is suggested that each image be submitted no smaller than 1920 pixels @ 72dpi on the LONGEST side. A MINIMUM of 800 pixels on its longest side will be accepted. Files may be submitted in JPG or JPEG.
Important: the quality of photography contributes greatly to the clarity, sharpness, color, lighting and understanding of your artwork and assists jurors in their decision making process. Please submit your image(s) accordingly.
6. USE OF IMAGES: By submitting images to the exhibition, the entrant warrants that he/she created each of the artwork(s) submitted for consideration in the exhibition and that he/she possesses all legal rights to them. The entrant agrees that all submitted images selected by our judge may be used for marketing and promotional purposes related to the exhibition. By providing the images and other information through this entry, the entrant gives permission for OMA and L Street Fine Art to use images of accepted artwork for promotion, reference, printed materials and online postings as well as in future advertising. All images used by OMA and L Street Fine Art shall have a credit line of the artist. Copyright and all other rights remain that of the artist.
7. ENTRY FEE: At the end of the entry process, payment can be made using or a valid credit card or PayPal. Entry fees are nonrefundable and must be paid by the entry deadline. Unlimited numbers of entries per Entrant are allowed. Entry Fees are $25 for up to five entries and $10 for each additional entry.
8. ELIGIBILITY OF ARTWORK: Artwork may be two-dimensional, no larger than 40” wide x 60” tall including frame. Three-dimensional artwork must be wall-hanging and no larger than 40” wide x 60” tall x 4” deep. Submissions are open to visual artists working in all media. Originals or limited editions only.
Artwork requiring special or unusual lighting or methods of installation cannot be accommodated.
9. NOTIFICATION OF ACCEPTANCE: Entrants whose work is accepted will receive an emailed Acceptance Letter from OMA via onlinejuriedshows.com on or before November 11, 2016. Exhibiting artists will also receive a loan form. Detailed instructions will be given in the acceptance letter.
10. CONDITIONS: Final acceptance of entries in the exhibition is up to the Jurors’ discretion after viewing the delivered framed artwork. If an artwork does not match the appearance of the electronic entry, if actual dimensions of artwork are larger than specified size limitations, if artwork requires special or unusual lighting or methods of installation that cannot be accommodated, or if the workmanship or framing is not suitable quality for gallery presentation, the artwork will be disqualified and returned at the artist’s expense.
OMA will assume insurance responsibility for the object upon receipt and inspection and during transportation to and from the exhibition location, at L Street Gallery. L Street Gallery will assume insurance responsibility for the artwork during installation and while on exhibition.
OMA and L Street Gallery will exercise the usual care in handling and will provide coverage for the fair market value of the work or the fair costs of repair. They cannot be responsible for minor wear resulting from normal handling. Each artist in the exhibition will be required to sign a loan agreement with OMA for loan of the work.
11. ARTWORK DROP-OFF:

• October 15, 12:00-1:00pm, at Oceanside Museum of Art, 704 Pier View Way, Oceanside CA 92054
• October 19, 9:00am-10:00am, at L Street Fine Art Gallery, 628 L St, San Diego, CA 92101
All work delivered must be ready to hang with D-rings installed on reverse at an equal distance from the top of artwork. Wires are unnecessary. If work that is not ready to hang is delivered it will not be included in the exhibition or be accepted at drop off.
All packaging material must be removed by the artist at the time of drop off. Packing material WILL NOT be stored or provided at time of drop off and pick up.
12. ARTWORK PICK UP: Artwork must remain with the exhibition through the conclusion of the show in early January, 2017. In November participating artists will be notified of pick up date(s) and time(s).
SALES: All sales must be transacted through the Omni front desk. If the artist chooses to list their artwork for sale, exhibited work will be available for purchase during the course of the exhibition at the price specified on the title card for each item. Artwork must remain with the exhibition through the run of the show.
The gallery director will alert artists if their artwork sells and will supply a W-9 form to be completed by the artist. 50% of the proceeds of the sale will be distributed to the artist.
13. ABOUT OMA ARTIST ALLIANCE: The Artist Alliance is an affiliate group of membership dedicated to the support of Oceanside Museum of Art. Artist Alliance provides opportunities for interaction, visibility, and growth for artists in the region.
The mission of Oceanside Museum of Art is to educate and inspire the public through a diverse range of engaging exhibitions and programs that connect people with regional, as well as national and global, artists and art forms of the 20th and 21st centuries.
