Signature Member of the Pastel Society of the West Coast and the Pastel Society of America and a Life Member honoree of Women Painters of Washington. Barbara is a 2013 International Association of Pastel Artists Master Circle Honoree (IAPS) and received Distinguished Pastelist designation in the Northwest Pastel Society in 2015.
Submission of entries: All members entries for this exhibition are digital. Enter online at www.OnlineJuriedshows.com. Artists may submit only one (1) painting, your best, for this exhibition.
Entering Your Images:
Entry form must be filled out in its entirety, including unframed dimensions (or size), framed dimensions (if not known, estimate it) or weight, medium, and price, if requested. List sizes up to the nearest half inch. Submitted images must not include matting or frame. Crop the photos to include only the artwork. Be sure your images are right-side-up.
For best results, make sure your image is 1920 pixels @72 dpi on the longest side. Images should be in JPEG format, sRGB color space. Fees: This is an exhibition for current NPS members only. Entry fee is $25. Entry fees will not be refunded and must be paid by the entry deadline.
Limitations: Size not to exceed 20x28” frame size (outside dimension of frame Width x Height). All work must be framed and ready to hang with strong wire and flat metal hangers. All entries that are properly and appropriately framed and wired for exhibition will be hung. If mats are dirty or frame is inappropriate for the caliber of this show, they will not be hung.
Work should arrive at the gallery in good condition with no pastel dust on the mat or glass.
Sales: All work must be for sale and realistically priced. A 30% commission will be taken by Dakota Art Gallery. Sold work will continue to hang until end of show on Saturday, October 29, 2016.
Eligible work: Artist must be 18 years of age or older. All work must be original in concept and executed by the artist in the pastel medium within the last two years. Work exhibited in previous NPS exhibits is not eligible. No instructor assisted (hands on) work is eligible. Mixed media pieces must be 80% predominately pure pigment (soft) pastel.
Delivery of work: Paintings may be hand carried to gallery (check hours) or shipped directly to the gallery. All work must reach Dakota Gallery between Monday, September 19-26. Members wishing to participate in the volunteer “tag team” delivery system must contact James (james@NWPS.org) to register. You will be notified of a drop off date and place, and/or a contact in your area. Not all participants are guaranteed assistance. We will attempt to facilitate all requests for deliveries and returns.
Liability: All reasonable care will be taken with paintings and submissions, NPS, its officers, volunteers and Dakota Art Gallery, shall not be held responsible for the loss and damage to paintings, frames or digital entries.
NPS suggests that participants carry separate insurance.
The artist grants permission to reproduce work for publicity purposes, both in print and digital galleries. Copyright will be attributed to the artist. Entry into this exhibition constitutes agreement with all conditions set forth in this prospectus and Entry Form, and is your commitment to participate.
Your entry form is a legal and binding contract to deliver artwork that has been juried in to the show. If, after being juried in, and entrant chooses not to deliver artwork, he or she may not enter an NPS show for a period of two years.
