Juror: Joe A. Oakes

Award winning painter, former teacher, art consultant and graphic designer

Joe A. Oakes’ stunning landscapes burn with the excitement of bold, bright color and draw on scenes from all over the U.S., but especially the Southwest and California. His work offers a new perspective on color and place, while offering a meditative sense of calm, happiness and a real reverence for the land. He holds a BFA from California State University, in Fullerton, and among his many awards are the Distinguished Artist Award from the City of La Quinta, CA in 2011 and a First Place Award for his work in the “Visions” Exhibition at Chaffey Community Museum of Art in Ontario, CA in 2019.

ELIGIBILITY

· Work must be your own original artwork, not done under an instructor’s supervision, and not exhibited in any previous WPW show.


Think back and remember….this show’s

theme can be your personal interpretation.


· This exhibit is for WPW members only.


SPECIFICATIONS

· Work does not have to be for sale.

· Original digital art will be considered but not digital reproductions.


ACCEPTED WORK

· No more than THREE entries by any single artist.

· Not more than TWO entries per artist will be accepted.

· WPW reserves the right to reproduce accepted artwork for publicity and documentation purposes.

· The artist retains all copyrights in the artwork.

ENTRY PROCEDURE

Artwork for consideration by juror must be entered in the OnlineJuriedShows.com website by midnight Sunday, March 5, 2023.


FEES

$35 for ONE entry, $5 for each additional entry, up to three total entries by a single artist. All fees must be paid by the entry deadline and are non-refundable and payable through the OnlineJuriedShows.com website. Credit card or PayPal are accepted.


DISCLAIMER

The images from this Exhibit to be displayed on the WPW website are the exclusive property of the individual artists and no rights are conveyed to anyone without the express written permission of the artist.


Entries not meeting the criteria listed will be disqualified and the entry fee will not be refunded.


DIGITAL IMAGES OF EACH PIECE

· Digital format: JPEG

· Entry form must be filled out in its entirety. List sizes up to the nearest inch. Submitted images must not include matting or frame. Crop the photos to include only the artwork. Be sure your images are right side up.

· Before uploading your images, make sure they are smaller than 4MB, but at least 1920 pixels on the longest side at 72 dpi. Images should be in JPEG (.jpg) format, sRGB color space. Help photographing your work and properly sizing your images can be found at: www.onlinejuriedshows.com/help.aspx.
