All Members are highly encouraged to enter the Weekend Show and Sale July 16-17
Sales for the Juried Show will be handled by the NBC with a 35% commission to the NBC %65 sales to artist. NBC will also collect and pay sales tax and send payments to artists 4 weeks after show ends or with Zelle. .The show will be advertised to previous purchasers, NBC members, individual artist outreach, social media, VIP mailing list, banners and other advertising.
Entry: April 4 to June 20 at www.onlinejuriedshows.com. Entry Fee $35.00 for up to 2 images.
$10 each for two additional images (4 total max)
Do not enter any art that is not for sale.
Requirements: Original plein air paintings only. “Original” means your own concept, design and work, not done in a workshop or under the instruction or supervision of another. “Plein air” means completed 70 percent outdoors on location. (30 percent studio touch-up okay.) Paintings may be oil, acrylic, water color, pastel. Paintings must have been completed within the last two years. Paintings in any previous Socalpapa Show or other local show will not be accepted.
Subject Matter: The Newport Back Bay or one of the OC Parks. No exceptions. Do not confuse OC Parks with state or local parks. Paintings unidentifiable as to location or too generic in nature, e.g., solo tree; ocean wave, may be declined. It is a good idea to include the location in the name of your image, e.g. “Summer Morning (Black Star Canyon)”. Go to the OC Parks website for a list of locations under OC Parks Department management.
Paintings must be framed, backed with a black or brown dust cover, and ready to hang with d-rings and wire. Size limit, framed art work cannot exceed 24 inches on any one side.
The Show: Up to Sixty (60) paintings will be selected by a Judge, TBD. The Top 60 paintings will be judged in person and over $2,000 in cash and merchandise awards will be awarded. Accepted paintings must be delivered Friday, July 8 to the Muth Interpretive Center Conference Room between 10:00 a.m. and 3:00 pm. The paintings will be on display and for sale in the Muth Center Theater room from July 9 through July 15.
