PGE Open Online Pastel Competition 2020
The PastelGuild of Europe rf is proud to announce their second Open Online Pastel Competition. We have several well-known pastel artists as judges and offer $2400 in prize money and hundreds more in art material or vouchers from our sponsors. Our online-only competition will be hosted with OnlineJuriedShows OJS.

Specifications
The show is open to pastel artists from around the world, PGE members and non-members alike. Participants have to be 18 or older. Each artist may submit up to 5 paintings.
80% of the work must be dry pastel. No oil pastels, please!
Your work must be original, not copied from other artists or published materials. That means only your own reference material is allowed!
All artwork must be originally drawn and not created on top of a base photo or print.
All work must have been created within the last three years.
Tasteful nudes are allowed.
Works done under supervision, such as in a workshop or class are not eligible.
No entry that has previously won an award in another PGE show is allowed.

We accept entries into the following categories:
Still life / Florals
Landscape (includes Seascape and Cityscape)
Animal
Portrait / Figure
Failure to meet any of the requirements for eligible work may result in the work not being juried.
Please note; PGE reserves the right to refuse any painting that does not meet any of the above specifications.
How to enter
To submit entries, go to https://www.onlinejuriedshows.com/ and choose PGE Open Online Pastel Competition 2020.
Please follow these requirements carefully regarding the preparation of your images:
Only jpeg image files will be accepted.
Files should be as close as possible to a resolution of 1920 pixels @ 72dpi on the LONGEST side.
File size must be smaller than 4 Mb.
Each image must be named as follows: Name_Initial_Title e.g. Bond_J_Goldfinger. The title must be written in one word, without spaces or symbols.

Fees
PGE members*: $30 for up to 3 entries and $10 for each additional entry, with a limit of 5 entries in total.
Non-Members: $45 for up to 3 entries and $10 for each additional entry, with a limit of 5 entries in total.
Fees are non-refundable and must be paid at the time of entry, either with PayPal or with credit card.
*Dues must be paid in full prior to submission to receive the PGE Member rate. Participants can join or renew at https://www.pastelguild.org/index.php/component/comprofiler/registers
Award winners
Notifications will be sent no later than November 30, 2020.
Privacy policy
The PastelGuild of Europe rf (PGE) hosts its online competition with https://www.onlinejuriedshows.com/. When you enter the competition, you will be asked to create an artist account. You have to fill in your first and last name, address, phone number and email. This information is needed for the management of the competition. It will not be stored with PGE after the competition is over and the prizes have been sent out.
OJS does not include copyright protection for images submitted to the website. Copyright protection of images is the responsibility of the ARTIST.
Neither OJS nor PGE shall in any way sell, distribute or authorize the use of artists’ images to any third party.
OJS or PGE shall not in any way sell, distribute or authorize the use of email addresses provided by the artists to any third party.
If you want to enter our competition, you have to agree to the temporary collection of your personal data, as described above. You also have to agree to the publication of your winning artwork on the PGE website and FB page. The copyright remains with the artist.
