Expressions 2020
Expressions 2020 is North Country Arts fifth annual regional juried art show which will
be held at the Shirt Factory Gallery #120 in Glens Falls, NY during the month of May
2020. Four significant monetary awards (Gold - $750, Silver- $500, Bronze- $250 and
Honorable Mention $100) will be presented at the opening reception on May 9, 2020.
The exhibitions will be advertised by both the Shirt Factory Gallery and North Country
Arts both in print media and social media. This is an open call opportunity and includes
sculpture, photography , painting, printmaking, digital art, pottery, etc.
Juror: LAURA VON ROSK, Director of the Lake George Arts Project Gallery, Lake
George, NY for the last 20 years, is also an accomplished artist with a M.F.A. from the
Univerisity of Pennsylvania and a B.F.A. from the State University of NY at Purchase.
She is responsible for curating the Gallery shows as well as assisting with the
administration of the Lake George Arts Project. In 2011 Ms. Von Rosk had an
opportunity to assist a biologist as a field researcher in Antarctica which led to
numerous exhibitions of her paintings called AntARTica. She has taught drawing,
watercolor, design and art appreciation at North Country Community College,
Community College of Vermont, Uster County Community College and SUNY
Adirondack. Her work has been shown at galleries from Lake Placid to Hudson, NY as
well as in Kent, Ct., Shelburn, Vt., Henneker, NH, Blue Hill, ME, Great Barrington, MA.
Philadelphia, PA, Clemont, KY, Eugene and Portland OR, Orlando, FL to name a few.
She has won awards from the NY Foundation for the Arts, the Arts Council of the
Northern Adirondacks, and the Pollack-Krasner Foundation, New York, NY. She has
received numerous artist residencies including one at Yaddo in Saratoga Springs, NY.
Eligibility:
Art will be accepted from within a 150 mile radius from Glens Falls in any direction but
art must be delivered and picked up for there will be no shipping available.
1. Maximum frame or sculpture dimensions - 48 inches on the longest side
2. Original work only and must be for sale
3. Work must be ready to hang or display or will not be included
Fees and Categories
There will be a jurying fee of $25 for NCA members for two submissions and $35 for
non-members for two submissions. For 3D --two images for each 3D submission.
Entering Your Images:
The entry form must be filled out in its entirety. List sizes to the nearest inch for frame
size and image without the frame. Submitted images must not include matting or frame.
Crop the photos to include only the artwork. Be sure your images are right side-up.
Before uploading your images, make sure they are smaller than 4MB but at least 1920
pixels on the longest side at 72 dpi. Images should be in JPEG format, sRGB color
space. Help in photographing your work and properly sizing your images can be found

Sales
All sales will be handled by the Shirt Factory Gallery who will take a commission on all
sales of 35%. Plan your price accordingly.

April 25 2020 Drop Off at the Shirt Factory Gallery, Shirt Factory,
71 Lawrence St. Glens Falls, NY. 12 Noon to 5pm.
May 6 2020 Award winners chosen
May 9 2020 Reception and Awards presented 5pm to 7pm
May 30 2020 Show Closes
May 30 or 2020 Pick up of Art from 12 to 5pm. or
June 3 to 6 2020 If pick up not possible on these days contact

(If not picked up there will be a storage fee of $5 from 1 to 6 days, $!0 from 7 to 14
days, $15 for 15 plus days.)
Legal/Liability
Each work is insured to a reasonable amount while turned over to the care of the Shirt
Factory Gallery. However, the Shirt Factory Gallery or North Country Arts will not be
held liable for damage as a result of workmanship or design. Artists are responsible for
delivering to and from the Gallery and for insuring work while in transit. Artists are also
responsible for providing work that is sturdy and durable for necessary hanging
purposes.
Artists also agree to allow North Country Arts to photograph works for promotional
purposes .
