QUALIFICATIONS

Open to all current members of the California Art Club.

SUBJECT

Subject matter should primarily include scenes from the Los Angeles County Arboretum & Botanic Garden, however artwork of trees, plants, flowers and animals that can be found at the Arboretum, but was not created on location, will also be accepted (i.e. artwork of magnolias, roses, peacocks, etc.)

Join us for a Paint Out at the Arboretum on Sunday, August 4 from 9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. to create work to submit for the exhibition. (artists may stay until 4:30 p.m.) Admission fee is $9.

If you are unable to attend this paint out, you may paint at the Arboretum on a day of your choosing. Admission fee is $9. L.A. Arboretum hours are 9:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. every day.

MEDIUM

Oil, watercolor, pastel or acrylicor sculpture

Canvas size not to exceed 24” in width

Sculpture may not exceed 14” in height and 14” in width

COMMISSION

50% Artist; 30% Arboretum Foundation; 20% CAC

All artwork MUST be for sale.

SUBMISSION INFORMATION

Upload artwork through Online Juried Shows to submit artwork for Captured on Canvas: Painting the L.A. Arboretum.

There is a limit of 5 entries to this submission.

The entry fee for this exhibition is $35 for the first image, and $10 for each additional image.

NOTIFICATIONS

Artists will be notified via email on or around Friday, September 13.

ARTWORK DROP-OFF

Tuesday, October 1, 2019; 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

*If artists cannot drop-off accepted artwork in person during the designated date and time, artwork must be shipped.

OUT-OF-TOWN SHIPPING

Must arrive before Friday, September 27, 2019.

Artists will be responsible for the cost of crating, handling, and shipping artwork to and from the exhibition via Box & Ship in Pasadena, CA. Box & Ship will charge a $40.00 handling fee. Further shipping information will be provided upon acceptance.
