Celebration of Art



To celebrate 25 years of regional juried exhibitions, the Artists of Northwest Arkansas is changing this year’s show to a national exhibition. Celebration of Art will be hosted at the Fayetteville Town Center, located on the popular Town Square in Fayetteville, Arkansas, September 5th through Sept. 28th, 2019. The state of Arkansas is loaded with scenic drives, gorgeous forests, bluffs, rivers, lakes and parks, while Northwest Arkansas offers Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art and University of Arkansas.

APPLICATION DATES:  April 15 through July 7, 2019.  

ELIGIBILITY: Celebration of Art: 2019 National Juried Exhibition may be entered by any artist, 18 years of age or older, currently living in United States.

WORK ELIGIBLE: A maximum of three entries per artist may be submitted for consideration.

Work must be original, not done under supervision, not previously shown in this exhibit, and completed in the last 3 years.

Work previously shown in an ANA Juried Exhibition is ineligible.

Orient images the way they are to be viewed

All 2 and 3-dimensional artwork, sculpture, representational or abstract; oil, acrylic, watercolor, pastel, mineral pigments, charcoal, mixed media, and photography accepted (calligraphy, video, and group/collaboration works are not accepted). No reproduced drawings or paintings will be accepted. Originals only.

Photographs and digital art printed on paper or other ground will be accepted.

Diptychs and triptychs must be in one frame.

Plexiglas must be used for glazing. Pastels under glass will only be accepted with a signed waiver form.

 

SIZE RESTRICTIONS: All work accepted for the exhibition must be ready for display. For 2-dimensional work, maximum of 1200 square inches (30”x40”) unframed, example: 30” (height) x 40” (width). All framed art must have screw eyes or D-rings; strong wire attached and be ready to hang. Gallery wrap is acceptable with the edges painted. Sculpture is limited to 50 lbs. and if fragile must be encased or otherwise protected.

ENTRY FEE AND MEMBERSHIP: A general non-refundable entry fee of $40.00 will be charged for one – three entries. Fee for members of The Artists of Northwest Arkansas will be $35.00 for one – three entries.

MEMBERSHIP IN THE ARTISTS OF NORTHWEST ARKANSAS: Membership in the Artists of Northwest Arkansas is not required to enter this show, however, all ANA members must be current on their dues to enter this competition using the discounted fee.  If you are interested in becoming a member or need to pay your dues, you will find information on our website. There are no qualifications necessary to join The Artists of Northwest Arkansas. Membership is $35 per year. ANA members who wish to retain Signature status must be up to date with dues for each year since first achieving Signature status. Please see our website for additional information.

METHOD OF SELECTION AND AWARDS: The Celebration of Art: 2019 National Juried Exhibition will be selected from digital image files. Three non-member jurors will select the pieces juried into the show. The 2019 three-member panel of jurors include: Nationally acclaimed artists, John Pototschnik, Rod Zullo, and Larry Seiler. Final selection of awards will be made by our judge, the national awarding winning artist Dean Mitchell of Tampa, Florida from actual works of art, not from digital images. Award amount values in excess of $10,000 will be announced at the Reception on September 7th. Artists do not need to be present to win.

DIGITAL IMAGES: Digital images shall be at least 72 dpi, 1920pixels on the longest side and should accurately represent the artwork. No work previously accepted in an ANA exhibition or copy of work previously accepted or receiving an award will be accepted.  It is the intention of ANA that all acceptances will be considered final. However, ANA reserves the right to delete from the exhibition any artwork that does not conform to the entry specifications.

Artists whose artwork is selected to be in the show will be notified of acceptance and provided with instructions for shipping. Only artwork that is received will be eligible for awards.

 

SHIPPING and RETURN of ACCEPTED ARTWORK

RECEIVING: Accepted entries that are SHIPPED must arrive between Aug. 26 through August 30th at the Art Emporium, 2914 N. College Avenue, Suite 1 & 2, Fayetteville, AR. 72703. Participants may use the carrier of their choice but must include a prepaid return label with the shipped artwork.  Details for shipping will be in the acceptance letter. A $25.00 fee must be included to cover the expense of uncrating and delivering the work to the Fayetteville Town Center. ANA will waive the uncrating fee for artists who use a commercially manufactured artist’s/strong box such as a StrongBox (™) by Airfloat Systems or similar brand, like Master Pak or Uline. FedEx Art boxes are NOT included in the list of boxes for which the fee will be waived. Artist who do not use one of these special boxes are required to remit the $25 prior to hanging of the exhibition. If the artwork is sold, commercially manufactured boxes will be returned to the artists at the conclusion of the show at the artist’s expense. No wooden crates.

For accepted entries that will be HAND-DELIVERED: Details for hand-delivery will be in the acceptance letter. 

If you are selected and do not deliver your work, you will no longer be eligible to enter the ANA juried competition in the future.

RETURN: Accepted entries may not be removed before the close of the exhibition. Any entry participant removing art prior to the close of the exhibition will be barred from future entry into this juried exhibition. Shipped artwork, not sold at the show, will be returned within two weeks after the close of the show via the same carrier used by the sender. If return address is a P.O. Box, please include an alternate shipping address.

PHOTOGRAPHY: The Artists of Northwest Arkansas, reserves the right to photograph and reproduce, in color or black & white, all artworks accepted for the exhibition regardless of copyright. Digital images will be used for the exhibition catalogue, educational, and/or publicity purposes only.

SALES: SALES: Sales will be facilitated by the Artists of Northwest Arkansas and a commission of 20% will be retained on all sales. Artist must price their artwork accordingly. Artist may mark their artwork “Not for Sale”.  Artwork sold at the Fayetteville Town Center will be given to the purchaser after the show closes on or after October 4th, 2019.

 

ADDITIONAL ITEMS REQUIRED:  

Art Label provided with notification to be filled out and attached to the upper RH corner of the painting.  If sculpture or other 3D work, send in with art work in an envelope clearly labeled.

CATALOG: Each selected artist who is juried into the show will receive a copy of the exhibition catalog.

AGREEMENT: The receipt of an entry for the Celebration of Art: 2019 National Juried Art Exhibition will be understood to imply agreement on the part of the entrant with all conditions set forth in this prospectus.

 

LIABILITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Artist of Northwest will take great care of your artwork, but will not be responsible for loss or damage to any artwork, no matter what the cause. The Fayetteville Town Center is a very secure location. By submitting artwork to this exhibition, each artist will be deemed to have concurred with this agreement. Artists pay shipping both ways. We suggest you provide insurance to cover full value of artwork while in transit.

September 7, 2019 – Awards Ceremony and Reception

September 28, 2019 – Exhibition closes

September 29, 2019 – Hand delivered artwork available for pick up 2pm-4pm

October 4th – Shipped artwork begins to be shipped back to artist with prepaid return label
