Santa Cruz Art League creates an environment where local as well as regional & national artists display their art. The many classes in art and performance provide a space for learning and enhancing the creative process. Established in 1919, Santa Cruz Art League is Santa Cruz County’s longest standing Arts organization, and is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit.
Exhibition Details
The first Santa Cruz Art League Statewide Exhibition was held in 1928. For nine decades, the Santa Cruz Art League’s Statewide Landscape Exhibition has showcased the work of artists who depict California’s foothills, mountains, seashores, and deserts of the interior and coastal regions. In 2019 the Santa Cruz Art League will be celebrating its centennial year.
Open to statewide residents. 2D artwork only will be accepted. The SCAL reserves the right to decline or remove any work that does not conform to the agreement.
Eligibility
Open to California residents, plein air and studio artwork paintings of California locations within the last three years of date of entry. This is a painting exhibition of oils, watercolors, pastels, and acrylics. The Santa Cruz Art League reserves the right to decline or remove any work that does not conform to the prospectus or agreement.
Fees
Entry fee paid to www.OnlineJuriedShows.com: Non-Refundable.
SCAL Members - $35 for one entry, $10 for each additional entry up to 5.
Non-Members - $40 for one entry, $10 for each additional entry up to 5.
ENTERING YOUR IMAGES:
For best results, make sure your image is 1920 pixels @72 dpi on the longest side. Images should be in JPEG format, sRGB color space. Help in photographing your work and properly sizing your images can be found at: www.OnlineJuriedShows.com/help.aspx. Juror Ed Penniman is a painter, author, curator and collector of early 20th century California regionalist paintings. Penniman is a nationally recognized former art director and graphic designer. He resides in Northern California.

Sales
All work must be for sale. Artists agree to donate 45% of any sale of work to Santa Cruz Art League (SCAL)
or 30% of sale if SCAL Member. Artist will be paid three weeks from end of show.
SCAL insures work only after installation. Maximum insured value $1000 regardless of price.
Awards
The Santa Cruz Art League will grant prize money of $1,000 to be awarded by our juror at the artist's reception.

Timeline of events:
- Open/close date for submitting their work online:
Prospectus Online: September 28, Friday.
Deadline for entries: January 23, Wednesday, 2019 (11:59pm).
- Mail Accept/Decline out: January 25, Friday.
Shipping Drop Off: February 19, 20, 21, 22 (Tuesday – Friday, 12am to 5pm)
Drop off: February 24, Sunday, 12-4pm & February 25, Monday, 1-3pm.
Work must arrive on required dates.
Pickup: April 14, Sunday, 12-4pm & April 15, Monday, 1-3pm.
$5 a day Late Pickup fee.
- Work requiring special handling is to be installed & removed by artist.
- No work may be substituted or exchanged for any reason.
- Work must be original, and for sale, ready to install.
- Shipped entries must have a Prepaid Return Shipping Label (UPS & FedEx)
- Artist bio and/or brief information on artwork with photo is encouraged for Gallery Bio Book, when accepted.
