ABOUT WASH

WASH (Watercolor Artists of Sacramento Horizons) is a nonprofit corporation affiliated with the Sacramento Fine Arts Center.  Its purposes are to improve, promote, and provide an oriented educational service to the community; to share our common love of the watercolor medium with the community; and to promote the creative growth of our members within the organization.

DEFINITION OF WATERCOLOR & OTHER WATER-BASED MEDIA:

Any water-based medium, either transparent or opaque is acceptable. These include transparent watercolor, tempera, casein, gouache, color inks and acrylics. Acrylics should be clearly diluted and transparent leaving no surface texture. Acrylics done in impasto are not eligible. Mixed media may be used, but water-based media must be predominant.

ABOUT LINDA ERFLE, NWS, WW, AWS, JUROR

Linda Erfle explores the essence of her subjects through the unifying elements of value, shape, edges and color; striving to convey how truly extraordinary the ordinary is that surrounds us.

Possessing a long-time interest in art, Linda has had the opportunity to seriously focus on painting since the early 90s, applying watercolor or oil to render paintings in a representational style.

She has completed numerous college art classes at San Jose State University and Cosumnes River College and gone on to study with Anita Wolff, Jill Figler, Ken Potter, Dale Laitinen, Jan Kunz, Judi Betts, Cheng-Khee Chee, Jane Hofstetter, Alvaro Castagnet and Jeannie McGuire.
