Santa Cruz Art League creates an environment where local as well as regional & national artists display their art. The many classes in art and performance provide a space for learning and enhancing the creative process. Established in 1919, Santa Cruz Art League is Santa Cruz County’s longest standing Arts organization, and is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit.
Exhibition Details
Art is a democratic form of expression on the convoluted news around politics today. Utilizing both traditional, and non-traditional mediums, artists all over the nation have been creatively expressing distaste or excitement on the happenings of national and international politics. This exhibition will showcase voices of artists who refuse to be silent and actively engage in the citizens’ conversation.
Open to nationwide residents. Any media will be accepted. The SCAL reserves the right to decline or remove any work that does not conform to the agreement.
Eligibility
Open to United States residents, must be 18 years old or older. The Santa Cruz Art League reserves the right to decline or remove any work that does not conform to the agreement.
Fees
Entry fees are non-refundable and must be paid by the entry deadline through OnlineJuriedShows.
SCAL Members - $35 for one entry, $10 for each additional entry up to 5.
Non-Members - $40 for one entry, $10 for each additional entry up to 5.
Entering Your Images
Entry form must be filled out in its entirety. List sizes up to the nearest inch. Submitted images must not include matting or frame. Crop the photos to include only the artwork. Be sure your images are right-side-up.
Before uploading your images, make sure they are smaller than 4MB, but at least 1920 pixels on the longest side at 72 dpi. Images should be in JPEG format, sRGB color space. Sales
All work must be for sale. Artists agree to donate 45% of any sale of work to Santa Cruz Art League (SCAL) or 30% of sale if SCAL Member. Artist will be paid three weeks from end of show.
SCAL insures work only after installation. Maximum insured value $1000 regardless of price.
Awards
Juror will grant $2,000 in Awards.
Calendar
1. Open/close date for submitting work online:
Prospectus Online: July 21, Friday.
Deadline: Oct 30, Monday (11:59pm).
2. Notifications sent out: Email Accept/Decline out: Nov 10, Friday.
3. Drop off of artwork:
Shipping Drop Off: December 27, Tuesday through December 29, Friday (10:am to 5pm)
Drop off: January 2, Tuesday 12-4pm and January 3, Wednesday, 2-4pm
Work must arrive on required dates.
Pickup: February 4, Sunday, 4-6pm & February 5, Monday, 2-4pm.
$5 a day Late Pickup fee.
• Work requiring special handling is to be installed & removed by artist.
• No work may be substituted or exchanged for any reason.
• Work must be original, and for sale, ready to install.
• Shipped entries must have a Prepaid Return Shipping Label (UPS & FedEx) &
• $20 check for unpacking/repacking fee per box.
• Artist bio and/or brief information on artwork with photo is encouraged for Gallery Bio Book, when accepted.
4. Gala Reception:
Reception: February 2, First Friday, 6:00-8:00pm

A Note from OnlineJuriedShows
On the day of notification you can do the following, but you will also receive an email notification, sent from Constant Contact, that will state the same.
1. Go to OnlineJuriedShows.com and log in using your email address and password.
2. Right above where you just logged in, click "Your Artist Profile." You are now in Your account!
3. Click the show name and you will see your first image. The jury results will be under the thumbnail view.
4. As you will see, it will say either "This Image has been Accepted or Declined in to the show." Under that sentence, you can click "Read Acceptance (or Declined) Letter." The letter will then be displayed below.
5. If you submitted more than one piece in the show, go to the next entered piece in the show by clicking the page number, displayed below the thumbnail image.
NOTE: Please be sure to read your letters in their entirety. Most acceptance letters will ask you to RSVP or will have special instructions you must follow.
