FOUR SEASONS ART WALK

CALL FOR ARTISTS

 

The Four Seasons Art Walk is open to all Regional Artists of San Diego County and South Orange County.  This Call is for Our Spring Event.

FOUR PUBLIC VENUES:
ARTISTS ALLEY, CIVIC PLAZA, EL CORAZON, AND THE OCEANSIDE HARBOR.

There will be approximately 20 merchant and business venues. A list of potential private venues will be provided on our Web Site. http://www.oceansidefriendsofthearts.org/home Oceanside Friends of the Arts will not be curating or matching artist to private venue. It is up the Artists to find the venue which will best be matched to the art subject of the art work.

The Public Venues will accommodate 20 – 50 artists. The Artists are responsible for their own display needs, tables, lighting, tents etc. Small generators are acceptable if they are the “quiet” make.

The Four Seasons First Friday Art Walk Events will be:
- March 3 -4 Four Seasons First Friday Set up 12: 00 PM ~ 8:00 PM
- First Saturday March Cinema Paradiso TBA
- July, 7 - 8 Four Seasons First Friday Art Walk 12 - 8
- First Saturday/ Sunday Oceanside Regional Open studios 8, 9
- October 6 - 7 Four Seasons First Friday Oceanside Harbor taste and Art Walk 8 AM – 8 PM
- First Saturday Jazz at the Harbor. Art At the Harbor in private venues.
- December 1 - 2 Four Seasons First Friday Art Walk
- First Saturday Star Party OPT at El Corazon.

Each Event will have music, performance, and visual digital displays. We will strive to have public interactive attractions which will enhance each quarterly event. The events will be publicized through printed and social media to capture the widest possible audience. Maps for the Four Seasons Art Walks will be provided at each event, and in printed media.

Juror Ruth Jameson
Galarist, /Sculptor, whose work is in collections Nationally and Internationally, has been actively promoting the Arts for the City of Oceanside region and beyond since 1992. She is the Founder of Artists Alley Oceanside and Co-Founder of The Oceanside Friends of the Arts. Of Artists Alley she says; "art seeds have been planted here"

Entering Your Images:
Entry form must be filled out in its entirety.  List sizes up to the nearest inch.  Submitted images must not include matting or frame.  Crop the photos to include only the artwork.  Be sure your images are right-side-up.

Before uploading your images, make sure they are smaller than 4MB, but at least 1920 pixels on the longest side at 72 dpi.  Images should be in JPEG format, sRGB color space.  Help in photographing your work and properly sizing your images can be found at:  www.OnlineJuriedShows.com/help.aspx.  If you need help entering your images or are unable to, please email Help@OnlineJuriedShows.com or call 949-287-8645.

Please add Services@OnlineJuriedShows.com and Manager@OnlineJuriedShows.com to your safe senders list to ensure notifications are received.

Artists Requirements for acceptance of Art works:

1.    All work must be original. No imported or mass produced posters or works not done by the Artist's hands.
2.    Limited edition prints are acceptable. The limited editions must be archival media. Numbered signed and dated by artist.
3.    Fine crafts will be accepted on an individual basis regarding presentation and uniqueness.
4.    No bead jewelry accepted. No Clothing accepted.
5.    All entrants must be 18 or older.

Media:
- Paintings, Oil, Acrylic, watercolor, gauche, pastel, pencil, charcoal, and mixed media.
- Sculpture: Bronze, Wood, Ceramic, Glass, Acrylic, Found objects, Constructions, fine jewelry.  Ceramics: pots, vases, fine jewelry, hand crafted artisan objects
- Prints: Monoprints, Digital prints. Woodcuts, Engraving, Etching, Lithography
- Photography All genres. Must be limited editions and use archival media.

Artists Requirements for participation:
1.    All artists must have their own resale license, insurance for their works, and be responsible for being at their set up of display. Oceanside Friends of the Arts are not responsible for any loss, damage, or theft of Art works. OFA will not make sales for any artist. OFA will not sit a display.
2.    Artists who are displaying in private venues must have their work framed and ready to hang. The Venues will not be involved in the mounting of the exhibition.
3.    Art works to be displayed at the Four Season Art Walks must be family friendly. No graffiti or x rated art works will be accepted.

Fees:
1.    The public venues $40 fee for participation.   Submit 3 images.
2.    Private venues will have 20.00 fee for participation submit 3 images.

All entry fees are non-refundable and must be paid by the entry deadline.

Designate which type of venue you prefer in the entry form by choosing one of the following categories:  Public or Private

There is no commission taken by The OFA in any of the Venues.

Call for Artists: January 11, Call Ends February 1, 2017
Artists notification: February 7th.
Notification:
Feb 11th for Artist acceptance and to be on Map for Art Walk.
Notification: Feb. 11th for Venues to be on Map for Art Walk.
Installation: For Private venues: February 20th of 2017.
Installation for Public Venues: March 3rd 12:00 PM – 8:00 PM.

WAIVER OF LIABILITY

WAIVER OF LIABILITY AND HOLD HARMLESS AGREEMENT


FOR VENDORS IN First Friday Four Seasons Art Walk. In consideration for receiving permission to perform at the First Friday Four Seasons Art Walk, I hereby RELEASE, WAIVE,

DISCHARGE, AND COVENANT NOT TO SUE The Oceanside Friends of the Arts, The City of Oceanside their officers, agents, employees and volunteers (hereinafter referred to as RELEASEES) and any Private Business Venue owners, their agents or employees, from any and all liability, claims, demands, actions, and causes of action whatsoever arising out of or related to any loss, damage, or injury, including death, that may be sustained by me, or to any property belonging to me, while participating in such activity, while in, on or upon the premises where the activities are being conducted, REGARDLESS OF WHETHER SUCH LOSS IS CAUSED BY THE NEGLIGENCE OF THE RELEASEES, or otherwise and regardless of whether such liability arises in tort, contract, strict liability, or otherwise, to the fullest extent allowed by law

1.    I am fully aware of the risks and hazards connected with the activities involved in any performance, and I am aware that such activities include the risk of injury, and I hereby elect to voluntarily participate in said activities, knowing that the activities may be hazardous to my property and me. I understand that the Riverside Arts Walk and the Riverside Arts Council do not require me to participate in these activities. I voluntarily assume full responsibility for any risks of loss, property damage, or personal injury that may be sustained by me, or any loss or damage to property owned by me, as a result of being engaged in such activities, WHETHER CAUSED BY THE NEGLIGENCEOF RELEASEES or otherwise, to the fullest extent allowed by law

2.    I further hereby AGREE TO INDEMNIFY AND HOLD HARMLESS the RELEASEES from any loss, liability, damage, or costs, including court costs and attorneys' fees that Releases may incur due to my participation in said activities, WHETHER CAUSED BY NEGLIGENCE OF RELEASEES or otherwise, to the fullest extent allowed by law.

3.    It is my express intent that this Waiver and Hold Harmless Agreement shall bind the members of my family and spouse, if I am alive, and my heirs, assigns and personal representative, if I am deceased, and shall be deemed as a RELEASE, WAIVER, DISCHARGE, AND COVENANT NOT TO SUE the above-named RELEASEES. I hereby further agree that this Waiver of Liability and Hold Harmless Agreement shall be construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California and that any mediation, suit, or other proceeding must be filed or entered into only in California and the federal or state courts of California. Any portion of this document deemed unlawful or unenforceable is severable and shall be stricken without any effect on the enforce-ability of the remaining provisions.
