Pastel Society of Southern California (PSSC)
PSSC 8th Annual Members’ Exhibition 2017

8th Annual Members’ Exhibition
2017 Official Prospectus

REQUIREMENTS AND AWARDS:
•    To be eligible to participate in this show, you must be a current paid member of the PSSC as of the previous November meeting. The Membership Chairman at or before the November, 2015 meeting must have received your dues.
•    Each member in good standing is guaranteed at least one piece in the show, as selected by the PSSC Jury Committee or Special Invited Juror.
•    Participation in PSSC events, such as meetings, workshops or paint-outs, is encouraged, but not mandatory. A great way to get involved in PSSC functions is to volunteer in the events that take place at the time of the take-in of paintings for the show, and at the PSSC exhibition opening festivities.
•    This year PSSC will have four categories from which artists can choose to submit paintings.  Choose either Gold OR Silver, plus Miniature (in other words, you may submit in Gold and Miniature; or Silver and Miniature; but not both Gold and Silver). You may also submit just in the Miniature category.
•    This year we have a new category called Novice. This is for beginning artists and student artists who have started painting in the past two years. Novices can enter paintings completed in classes or workshops, provided the instructor has not personally worked on the painting. If you enter the Novice category, you will not be eligible to enter the Gold, Silver or Miniature.
•    We encourage all of our members, from beginners to seasoned professionals, to enter the exhibition, and have provided these categories to appeal to all levels.

ENTERING YOUR IMAGES:
Entry form must be filled out in its entirety.  List sizes up to the nearest inch.  Submitted images must not include matting or frame.  Crop the photos to include only the artwork.  Be sure your images are right-side-up.

Before uploading your images, make sure they are smaller than 4MB, but at least 1920 pixels on the longest side at 72 dpi.  Images should be in JPEG format, sRGB color space.  Help in photographing your work and properly sizing your images can be found at:  www.OnlineJuriedShows.com/help.aspx.  If you need help entering your images or are unable to, please email Help@OnlineJuriedShows.com or call 949-287-8645.

Please add Services@OnlineJuriedShows.com and Manager@OnlineJuriedShows.com to your safe senders list to ensure notifications are received.

DISTINGUISHED ARTIST - GOLD JUROR AWARD:
This category is for all eligible PSSC members who are professional artists, art teachers, or painters with years of experience. (An artist may also submit up to four paintings in just the Miniature category if not submitting in Gold or Silver or Novice.) The paintings must be 80 sq. inches or smaller--for example, 8” x 10” or any multiple size that adds up to 80 sq. inches or less when you measure the width times the height. You can have a mat or frame that measures no more than 3 inches around the painting. For an 8” x 10” painting the frame or mat can be 14” x 16”, or 224 sq. inches maximum total size including frame.

•    Artwork must be original and personally executed, not copied from other artists or from published or copyrighted materials. Artists working from reference photographs must have permission from the photographer to use the photo.
•    Artwork may not have been accomplished in a directed, step-by-step class or workshop, or otherwise be painted using an instructor’s original photograph, painting or real life/still-life set-up, even if the instructor grants permission as such.
